Peloton instructor and elite marathoner Becs Gentry is currently participating in the Great World Race, one of the most grueling and exciting endurance events in the world.
Update – Becs successfully completed The Great World Race. You can see more details here.
The Great World Race includes seven marathons on seven continents in seven days. The event begins in Antarctica before heading to Cape Town, South Africa; Perth, Australia; Istanbul, Turkey (Asia & Europe); Cartagena, Columbia; and Miami, United States.
The race kicked off a day earlier than originally scheduled due to weather concerns in Antarctica, where conditions are notoriously unpredictable. The adjustment ensured safer conditions for runners tackling the icy terrain, and all subsequent legs of the race were shifted accordingly.
Becs began her journey in Antarctica on November 14, 2024, and joined an elite group of women who broke the previous course record during the opening leg. According to the Great World Race organizers, the top five women broke the old record, showcasing the extraordinary talent assembled for this event there.
