Peloton is targeting the end of September for a release they hope will fix the Apple Watch app crashes members have been experiencing.
The company posted the update to their status page on Tuesday, September 15, writing:
“We identified some of the issues impacting Apple Watch with a planned release to members targeting the end of the month. We hope this resolves these issues!”
The wording leaves some uncertainty. Peloton says they identified “some of the issues” rather than all of them, and says they “hope” the upcoming release resolves the problem rather than saying it definitely will.
The incident also remains open on Peloton’s status page.
We shared last week that Peloton was investigating the bug, which causes the Apple Watch app to intermittently crash when members try to connect their watch to a workout or class.
Peloton first acknowledged the problem on September 9 at 10:13am ET. Just over two hours later, the company changed the incident status from “Investigating” to “Identified,” saying they had identified the issue and were investigating a fix.

Peloton lists Bike, Tread, App, and Row through the Peloton App as affected.
Because the crash is intermittent, not every member or every attempt to connect an Apple Watch is necessarily affected. Members running into the problem can use a separate compatible heart rate monitor in the meantime if they have one.
If Peloton’s planned release arrives near the end of September, that would put roughly three weeks between the company first acknowledging the problem and the targeted release.
For comparison, a different Apple Watch heart rate bug in March 2024 was resolved about a week after Peloton acknowledged it.
That earlier issue allowed an Apple Watch to pair but prevented heart rate information from appearing on Peloton hardware. The current problem is different, with Peloton specifically describing the Apple Watch app as intermittently crashing while connecting to a workout.
