Peloton Apparel website with banner advertising updated free shipping threshold.

Peloton increases the amount of apparel needed to get free shipping

Peloton has quietly increase the amount of apparel people need to purchase in order to get free shipping in the US.

Previously, Peloton apparel orders would have free shipping in the US if the order subtotal was over $50.

In the last week or so, Peloton has increased that amount. Now, someone must order $75 worth of Peloton apparel in order get free standard shipping in the US.

Note that the fine print to this offer hasn’t changed. You still only get the free shipping if your order amount meets the threshold AFTER any discounts & referral credits are applied to the order. So if you order $98 worth of apparel, but have a $100 referral code – you will not get the free shipping. This part of the policy has not changed.

All that changed this week was the free shipping threshold (after discounts & credits are applied) was increased from $50 to $75. This will result in more people having to pay for shipping costs for their Peloton apparel orders.

Peloton did not share any explanation or announce this change on their @PelotonApparel social media channels when this change was implemented – the website was just updated with the new terms.

As a reminder, in December 2022, Peloton also added an exception that their dumbbell weights would not qualify for free shipping. Dumbbell weights remain an exception to this free shipping policy – and there will still be a $12.95 shipping fee for weights.

If you haven’t looked at the Peloton Apparel site in a while, there is one other policy to be aware of (which isn’t new as of this week, unlike this free shipping increase). Peloton’s official terms put a limit on bulk buying specific items. The rules state that “to ensure our Member community has access to newest collections we have restricted online carts to a limit a 5 per item at this time.”

They do note that people who wish to purchase over that limit in one order can contact customer support for assistance in making a larger purchase. Update – Note that this doesn’t impact one large order where you are buying many different items – instead, it just impacts trying to buy (for example) 20 of the same exact item. This aims to cut down on third party resale markets & such scenarios.
