New Programs from Adrian Williams (Thunder 5×5) and Logan Aldridge (Dynamic Strength) in Peloton’s Strength+ App

Peloton’s Strength+ app has two new instructor-curated strength training programs available for you to join.

The most recent relases are Adrian Williams’ Thunder 5×5 program and Logan Aldridge’s Dynamic Strength program. Note that these links will only direct you to these programs if you are accessing them for a phone with the Strength+ installed. Otherwise, you will be directed to Peloton’s main Strength+ information webpage.

Adrian William’s new Thunder 5×5 program is an intermediate 1-week program with 5 days of workouts. The program description says:

“Maximize your strength training with Adrian’s 5×5 program. Get ready to feel the thunder!”

The program preview features a video from Adrian saying that he recommends repeating his 1-week program for 4 weeks. He also says that for each day of class you will focus on a 5×5 lift, which is “5 sets of 5 heavy reps of a barbell movement followed by accessory work. The goal of this program is to build strength and power through compound barbell exercises.”

Before you join a Strength+ program, the program information page features the full equipment list that you will use during the program’s duration, the suggested workout schedule for the week(s), and what workouts are programmed for each given day.

The Thunder 5×5 Strength+ program includes the following equipment: barbell, bench, cable machine, dumbbells, incline bench, loop band, leg curl machine, pull up bar, and a medicine ball. The suggested schedule is workouts on days 1 through 5 with recovery on days 6 and 7. Each workout day is 45 minutes in duration.

The Dynamic Strength program uses equipment including a barbell, dumbbells, bench, loop band, jump rope, kettlebell, plyo box, pull up bar, and foam roller. The suggested program schedule for each of the 2 weeks is to work out on days 1, 3, and 5 with recovery on days 2, 4, 6, and 7. Workouts are 45-60 minutes in duration.

Peloton’s Strength+ app became available nearly 2 months ago. When the separate strength-focused app first launched, there were 6 instructor-created programs which are all still available. Adrian and Logan’s recent additions are the first new programs since launch, bringing the total to 8 Strength+ programs.

As a reminder, the 6 programs that launched with the Strength+ app were:

  • Jermaine Johnson – Pure Pump – 3 weeks (3x/week, 45-60 min/day) – Intermediate
  • Rebecca Kennedy – Grind and Defined Split – 1 week (4x/week, 30 min/day) – Intermediate
  • Ben Alldis – Pump Up Your Performance – 4 weeks (4x/week, 30-45 min/day) – Intermediate
  • Assal Arian – Max Your Muscle – 4 weeks (5x/week, 45 min/day) – Intermediate
  • Rad Lopez – Shred It – 4 weeks (4x/week, 30 min/day) – Intermediate
  • Andy Speer – Ignite Your Strength – 4 weeks (3x/week, 45 min/day) – Intermediate

One feature of the Strength+ app is that you can swap out individual exercises, for example if you do not have the required piece of equipment you can choose a different suggested exercise that works the same muscles in a different way.

These latest Strength+ programs add to Peloton’s growing strength content arsenal, as four new Split/Split+ programs (which can be taken on the corresponding Peloton hardware device or from Peloton’s main app) were recently released.
