Peloton’s Kettlebell Classes Are Now Available (Kettlebell Strength, Conditioning, Basics, Strength & Conditioning)

After a week of teases – it is now official. Peloton Kettlebell classes are now available.

Peloton shared a launch video, which promoted 8 instructors, and 4 kettlebell class types.

The video appears to have dropped a little early, as the classes did not show up immediately on the Peloton app. However, around 10:00am ET, the first set of Peloton classes were made available.

At launch, there are 4 classes available. Note that these are available everywhere you would find normal strength classes – the Peloton hardware devices, Peloton app, etc. These are NOT Strength+ workouts (which is only available for iOS users in the US).

Peloton’s first kettlebell classes are:

Peloton has said that they will be releasing new classes every week – on Wednesdays. Expect to see the other coaches mentioned as teaching Kettlebell to have classes released in these future drops.

As you can see above, the 4 different types of Peloton Kettlebell classes are:

  • Kettlebell Strength – 80% strength moves and 20% ballistic moves. These classes incorporate ballistic movements during transitions between heavy lifts
  • Kettlebell Conditioning – 60% ballistic moves and a 40% mix of bodyweight moves and high rep/low weight strength moves. These classes improve cardiovascular health and strengthen functional mobility
  • Kettlebell Strength & Conditioning – These hybrid classes feature a 50/50 split of the two styles of training above
  • Kettlebell Basics – Classes breakdown fundamentals of certain movements or techniques

As stated in the video, and as we shared yesterday, there are 8 different coaches teaching Kettlebell classes at first. They are:

  • Jess Sims
  • Andy Speer
  • Katie Wang
  • Logan Aldridge
  • Rebecca Kennedy
  • Jermaine Johnson
  • Joslyn Thompson Rule
  • Assal Arian

Peloton has not yet said if other instructors will be added down the road. However, one of the classes does feature Dre Mayes – a former D1 football player and NASM CPT – making a guest appearance alongside Jess Sims. This is not the first time Peloton has had a featured guest instructor in a special set of classes – as Logan Aldridge featured guest instructor Tom Miazga in his Seated Adaptive Transfer program.

In addition to the coaches & classes above (which as mentioned, is in the main Peloton library) there is also a new “The Kettlebell Experience” Strength+ program. This program is unique, in that there is a guest instructor leading it. It is taught by Dre Mayes – the same guest instructor who appeared with Jess Sims in one of the Kettlebell classes. It describes itself as being for the intermediate lifter, and is two weeks long. A previous interview mentioned that Dre designed the program along with Jess Sims.

There is currently no non-Strength+ Peloton Kettlebell program – though we imagine one will be added down the road.

Peloton first teased that Kettlebell classes were coming last week, and then we found out more details about the classes yesterday.

At this point, Peloton has made no mention of selling their own branded Kettlebells. If you’re curious about what size kettlebells to use, in a recent post, Rebecca Kennedy recommended:

  • Light: 6-12kg
  • Medium: 10-16kg
  • Heavy: 12-24kg
