More Details Regarding Peloton’s Upcoming Kettlebell Classes (Instructors, Class Info & More)

More details have emerged regarding Peloton’s new kettlebell classes that are launching soon.

UpdatePeloton’s Kettlebell classes are now available.

In case you missed it, Peloton teased just over a week ago that kettlebell classes were on the way. The hint included a social media post that read: “You asked. We’re answering.”

A new CNET article published today reveals more details about the upcoming initiative. First, the article names eight instructors who will be teaching Peloton kettlebell classes at launch: Jess Sims, Andy Speer, Katie Wang, Logan Aldridge, Rebecca Kennedy, Jermaine Johnson, Joslyn Thompson Rule and Assal Arian.

This indicates that kettlebell classes will be offered from both Peloton Studios New York (PSNY) and Peloton Studios London (PSL). While Assal Arian is a German-language instructor – she mentioned in a pre-show recently that at least some of her Kettlebell content would be in English – so it’s not 100% clear if there will be any German language kettlebell classes at start or not.

In addition, look for a variety of kettlebell content on the platform: including kettlebell strength, conditioning, and basics, catering to both beginners and experienced users. According to the article:

Peloton’s kettlebell training program will focus on kettlebell strength and conditioning, as well as a combination of kettlebell strength and conditioning, plus kettlebell basics. Each program will focus on different aspects of kettlebell training. Kettlebell strength will mainly focus on strength exercises with some ballistic movements. Kettlebell conditioning will focus on ballistic movement and bodyweight movements with some weight-bearing strength exercises.

While it hasn’t been explicitly clarified – it does sound like Peloton’s kettlebell classes will include both regular standalone classes in the on-demand library, as well as programs in the programs area. The article does make it clear that Kettlebell classes will be found in the main Peloton platform (initially it wasn’t clear if they would ONLY be in the new Strength+ app that is only available right now in the US via iPhone). Various class lengths will be available, including 10, 15, 20 and 30 minutes.

Peloton is also adding more special Kettlebell content to Strength+, in addition to the classes coming to the main Peloton app & library. In particular – it appears there will be a special training program with Dre Mayes, a former D1 football player and certified personal trainer. He worked on the program alongside instructor Jess Sims, and from the article, it seems like he will be teaching some of the moves in Strength+. Could this be the start of Peloton bringing other guest instructors to the Strength+ platform?

While many questions remain in regards to Peloton’s new kettlebell classes – including when exactly kettlebell classes will be launching – this latest article provides more insight about what is to come. However, given that Peloton is giving some members of the press interviews and briefings about the new classes, it sounds like the launch will not be too far away.

We will share all additional details as they become available; but in the meantime, you can read the full article via CNET.

FINALLY! Woot! This is super exciting news. I’ve been wanting and waiting for kettlebell workouts. Hopefully they will be available through the tread/bike as that screen is easier to see than looking at my phone.
