Fall marathon training season is well underway, and with that comes several announcements about Peloton instructors planning to run marathons later this year.
Tunde Oyeneyin recently shared during an interview with Kate Mackz, host of The Running Interview Show, that she will be running the Chicago Marathon in October 2024.
Tunde’s first marathon was the 2023 New York City Marathon. After Kate mentioned upcoming marathons during their interview, Tunde shared:
“I’ll be running the Chicago Marathon in October. My first was New York last year. I’ve been a self-proclaimed non-runner my entire life. It’s stupid, it hurts, why does anybody do this? And then last year, I wanted to flip the narrative and put the power in my hands.”
If you follow Tunde on Instagram, you have probably seen her doing track workouts recently with fellow Peloton instructors Matt Wilpers, Alex Karwoski, Andy Speer, and others.
Tunde also shared what her typical training week looks like – “I ride probably two times a week, and then I run three times a week. And then if I’m really lucky, I work yoga or Pilates into that week.”

In addition to Tunde, Jeffrey McEachern will also be running the 2024 Chicago Marathon in partnership with RED. Jeffrey has been partnering with RED for a while and recently attended a RED event this past weekend.
Jeffrey’s Instagram profile shows his intent to run the Chicago marathon, saying: “Next: Chicago Marathon 2024”. Jeffrey has run several marathons over the past year, including Los Angeles, Boston, and London in 2024. He also ran on behalf of RED for the Boston Marathon in April 2024.
He also shared recently some of his philosophy behind how he is structuring his training for this marathon season.
Rad Lopez has also announced that he will be running the both Berlin and New York City Marathons this fall, in September and November respectively. Rad announced the news towards the end of a 30 minute Upper Body Strength class he taught on Tuesday July 23 at 12:30pm. After giving a milestone shoutout to member #MarathonerMissy, Rad said:
“What marathon are we training for next? I’m trying to tackle Berlin and I’m going to do New York again.”
Rad ran the NYC Marathon in 2023.
Kirsten Ferguson has not officially announced that she will be running a marathon, but she recently hinted in class that she is working towards something that will take place in November. Commenters are speculating it will be the NYC Marathon. You can catch her hint on Instagram or in her 45 minute Pop Run from Sunday July 14 at 9am. When discussing how recovery is necessary, Kirsten said,
“I took four months to recover, yeah? Then I ran a half marathon, then I’m stepping into a new type of hard. And baby you better buckle up in November.”
As a reminder, Peloton has a partnership with the NYC Marathon and NYC Road Runners so we may see additional instructors running that race in November. Several Peloton instructors ran NYC in 2023, and Peloton also released special 2023 NYC Marathon scenic class content.
We have previously shared that instructor Matt Wilpers plans to run the Berlin Marathon this year. Matt shared the news during his 30 minute Intervals Run on July 18. In addition, Becs Gentry will be running the Great World Race in November – seven marathons in seven continents over seven days.
We wish the best of luck to all our Peloton instructors who will be training for races over the next few months!
