First Peloton Classes From Guest Instructor Tim Robards (+ Class Collection)

Peloton’s newest guest instructor Tim Robards has officially launched on Peloton, with his first classes now being available on the platform.

Tim has 3 classes available to start – a walk, a ride, and a strength classes. All of the classes are two for one classes, with other Peloton instructors teaching next to him. This is expected to be the case with all of his classes that are released.

As a reminder, Peloton has said this is a “guest residency” from the Peloton Studios in London for Tim. He arrived a few weeks ago, and has been pre-recording classes to be released over the coming months. He recently shared that he was in his last week of the residency, and would be returning to Australia soon – where he might later have meetups with Peloton members.

Although the classes are two for one classes, you won’t find him listed as the instructor – just the main Peloton instructors is labeled in the on-demand library. You will see him in the thumbnail. To make it easier to find these classes, there is a new Guest Instructor: Tim Robards collection where you can find all the classes.

The official description for the collections reads:

Tap into the Down-Under energy of Tim Robards as the Aussie TV veteran and fitness enthusiast joins some of your favorite instructors in 2-for-1 classes on the Bike, Tread, and mat.

For this first release, there are 3 classes with Tim Robards – taught alongside Ben Alldis, Jon Hosking, and Joslyn Thompson Rule.

Note that although Tim Robards is being described as a “guest instructor” – some might describe it more as a “featured guest”, at least in these first cycling & walking classes. The regular Peloton instructor does most of the instructing, describing the class plan, and calling out directions during the class. The instructors also spend time asking Tim various questions, introducing him to Peloton community, and having him describing his thoughts on fitness & training in general – so Tim is chatting during the class, but not leading most of the class plan. Towards the end of each class, cycling class, Ben does ask Tim to lead one final movement or section for the class.

Tim does dive into more of the technicals during the strength class, providing some insight & tips on specific moves – there is less interviewing and general discussion in this class than in the cycling & walking classes. Tim also demos modifications of several of the moves along with Joslyn.

Peloton had previously said they were adding Tim as a guest instructor in an effort to reach more Australian members. Several of the classes are going to have music & playlists focusing on Australian artists.

It is not yet known how often new classes from Tim Robards will be released on Peloton – but there are still more to come with other UK instructors.

Peloton first announced Tim Robards would be joining back in November.
