Beta testing for the Peloton Strength+ app has officially started today.
With that, there is a brand new beta sign up page for the new app.
Update – The Peloton Strength+ app is now available to everyone. You can find details and an overview of the app here.
As a reminder, Peloton Strength+ is a new standalone app designed around strength workouts led by Peloton instructors. It is built for members who have home gym setups or do their workouts in gyms. This features videos of the instructors in a gym setting (not at PSNY or PSL) showing demos of the moves.
Peloton describes Strength+ as:
Peloton Strength+ is a new way to strength train with us. Consider this app your personal gym buddy, with self-paced, multi-week programs led by some of your favorite Peloton Instructors, a customizable workout generator tailored to your goals, instructional video clips, detailed progress tracking, and so much more. Peloton Strength+ aims to take the guesswork out of strength training, so you can focus on the reps and see the results. Peloton Strength+ is currently in beta.
The app is not yet currently available to all members, however, those interested in trying it out can apply to be in the beta.
The sign up will ask you a few questions, including how much you work out and how often to you to the gym. It then says you’ll be notified if you are in selected. In other words – filling out the form does not guarantee you’ll get into the Peloton Strength+ app beta program.
At this time, it appears the beta is only for those in the US, and only for iOS.

We shared a few weeks ago that this app was on the way (along with a Zwift-style cycling game beta). A big question at the time was whether their would be an additional cost or not.
Peloton has still yet to explicitly clarify this question – but recent comments have hinted a separate cost. In their FAQ, one of the questions is whether you have to pay for Strength+ – to which they say “Peloton Strength+ is free to use while in beta.” One could argue that this could simply mean that it is free even to those without All-Access or App memberships even while in beta.
However, in an interview with Tom’s Guide, SVP of Product for Peloton Brent Tworetzky seemed to hint that Strength+ would either end up being an entirely separate subscription, or an add-on cost to All-Access or App members. From the interview:
Peloton has not shared pricing or an official release date for Strength+ yet. From my conversation with Tworetzky ahead of the app’s reveal, it seems Strength+ will either come at a separate monthly cost for non-paying Peloton users or be offered as an add-on for Peloton All-Access users.
Peloton will have brand-new strength programs available in the app for members to use. This includes a “Shred It” 4-week program designed by Rad Lopez, an “Ignite Your Strength” 4 week program led by Andy Speer, and a “Max Your Muscle” program with Assal Arian.
For those who don’t wish to do programs, you will be able to use a custom workout generator to have Peloton put together a workout for you based on what equipment you have, how long you wish to workout, and how long you have. The app will then put together a list of moves into a workout for you. If you don’t like a specific movement, you can replace that one movement with an alternative, or ask Peloton to generate an entirely new workout for you to see if you like that one better.
In addition – the Strength+ app has no music programed for the workouts like every other Peloton workout you have ever taken (besides Just Work Out & Entertainment). Instead, you select your own music from Spotify or any other music app you have.
You can see some first looks at Strength+ from PCMag and Tom’s Guide – and we will have our own first look soon as well.
