Peloton Now Using ID.me for Student, Government, Military & Other Discount Verifications

Peloton has long offered discounted memberships and equipment for select groups, including military members, first responders, educators, and medical professionals. Previously, Peloton partnered with the company SheerID to verify the eligibility of applicants for these special offers.

Now, Peloton has transitioned to ID.me for this purpose.

ID.me is a digital identity verification service that provides a secure way for individuals to prove their identity online, often used by organizations to verify eligibility for discounts, benefits, or access to exclusive services. Originally created to streamline identity checks for military personnel, ID.me has expanded to support various groups, including students, teachers, first responders, and government employees.

Eligible groups can continue to access special pricing on both Peloton equipment and app memberships, with verification facilitated entirely through ID.me. Users will need to create an ID.me account if they haven’t already, though for those familiar with the platform, the process remains straightforward.

According to Peloton’s FAQs, those already verified through SheerID will not be required to reverify immediately. Instead, Peloton will inform users individually when a re-verification through ID.me is necessary. For new applicants, eligibility verification will automatically be handled via ID.me.

Peloton has updated numerous support pages – including the Special Pricing on Peloton App Membership page with more information about the transition to their new verification vendor.
