Peloton has quietly implemented a small but impactful change to its Schedule feature – the tool that allows members to schedule on-demand classes for a future date and time, adding them to a personal calendar and having them appear on their devices accordingly.
Until recently, members had a fair amount of flexibility when it came to starting these scheduled classes. For example, if a user scheduled a class for 10:00am next Wednesday, they could hop on their Bike or Tread earlier than that scheduled time – such as 9:20am – and the “Start” button would be visible, allowing them to take the class ahead of schedule without any extra steps.

That has now changed. Peloton has significantly narrowed the window in which scheduled classes become available to start. If you try to begin the class early – by even 10 or 15 minutes – you may find the “Start” button is no longer there.
Instead, you will have to either remove and reschedule the class or navigate to the class details page to manually start it – adding more steps of interaction needed before starting to take your class.
Similarly, if you attempt to take a class just 10 minutes after its scheduled start time, the class is grayed out with a message stating “Class has ended.” This forces members to manually search for the class again in order to begin their workout.
This change has prompted people to wonder whether this is a bug that has been introduced, or if it was removed on purpose. Some members have reported that they have asked Peloton support this question – who have confirmed this was an intentional update to the feature.
This small tweak may improve the clarity and structure for users who prefer a more formal schedule, but it also adds an extra step for those who liked the flexibility of starting a class slightly ahead of their set time.
Whether the change enhances or hinders your routine may depend on how you use the Schedule feature – which was first added a few years ago.

Why? Why? Why? I don’t get what they aim to achieve from this! If they’re doing this then why not increase the number of classes you can stack and people can use that for flexibility?!
I hate this change!! I love the flexibility. You should be able to have a toggle if you want this feature or now. Some people like more structure but I would say a majority like flexibility… This is why we have peloton in the first place.
I really dislike this new feature . Wastes a lot of time
I we could schedule things for a specific day, without adding a time at all! Would be a great way to plan my week and a super alternative to stacking.
Hate it. Makes zero sense.
This update was likely made by a person that does not use a Peloton. Why inconvenience the people that pay the bills? No wonder the company is always in turmoil.
I also hate this change with an all consuming passion. I have benefited from the flexibility and ease that past system offered (versus, say, stacking classes) and like to loosely “schedule” about 90% of the classes I take. Peloton, if you are reading this, please reconsider this silly change. (While we are at it, Peloton, please allow me to take a Peloton Program at my own pace as was previously allowed a few years back and don’t bump me out of a program if my schedule doesn’t match the programs. I value the ease of navigating the classes I want to take far more than I value badges.)
While a pain, you can click on the scheduled class, click the pencil in the upper right corner, and reschedule immediately. I don’t like this but it is a work around.
I don’t understand how this change is beneficial to anyone. I use the schedule feature all the time and I hate this change as I may be slightly ahead or behind my intended time. Why make it harder for membera to take a scheduled class?
I hate it!! Sometimes things happen and the scheduled time doesn’t work. I liked being able to still access to my ride but now I have to either go search for it or have my phone with me to reschedule it. This is a horrible update!!

I also dislike this change as I use this feature aspirational and do not always meet the schedule. I hope they reconsider
I agree with all of the comments, I loathe this!!! They are really going to put people OFF of workouts this way. How do we complain to them?
At least I’m not alone. This almost completely hoses how I used the feature – more as a playlist – not as another intractable constraint on my day. For now, I just schedule everything for 11 pm so I don’t have to keep searching for “expired” on demand classes. Peloton is rarely this off with features. Since I don’t take a scheduled class even within the ballpark of when I schedule something this restriction makes the feature nearly useless for me. The Stack has long since been useless for me. It stores my greatest hits and classes I want to take on the Guide without using its painful search interface.
I totally hate this new feature! I have enough unqualified people trying to control my life as it is. I only schedule classes so that I know what I need to do that day and I don’t have to go searching for a class when I’m ready to work out. This update has blown the whole thing for me! I don’t see why they did it. What the hell do they care about what time I decide to do a class or whether I do it at all that day????
Really f’s up my plan!!! Change it back !!!!!!
!! nobody likes this change obviously- see comments !!
Wrong, that’s only on the phone app not on the actual peloton screen you cannot reschedule it
Even bigger question is…. But why have to have a workaround? It should just be the same as it was before. It was working great. Why change something that works and make your user have a workaround??
Not entirely true ….Your workaround only works from the phone app, not on the peloton screen on the bike or tread. There is no option to reschedule it. So I have to go to my phone and reschedule it from the app.
Why is this even called a new and intended feature? When they could explain at least what the intend is? I do Not get it at all! Completely stupid!
It’s inefficient and not user friendly. Taking 1-2 more steps to start a class is counterproductive and not the typical “Peloton Way”.
It makes absolutely no sense that they took all of our flexibility away. Put it back to how it was – there are no advantages to how it is now. This is the opposite of an “improvement”
I’m so annoyed. Please change it back!
And while you’re at it, make it easier to go to your next scheduled class like the “continue stack” feature.
Too many annoying steps lead to frustration!
Oh wow. This is how I pick classes for the day when my stack is full. There are so many things they could upgrade, how did this specific feature hurt anything? They need to work on more filter options or increasing the number of workouts we can stack.
