A new class type temporarily appeared on the Peloton schedule, indicating that a new type of meditation class is likely on the way.
Update – Good Night / Wind Down meditation classes were released in November.
A class titled “AOUK-288 5 min Wind Down: Nightcap” – classified under the meditation modality and taught by Jon Hosking – was posted on the upcoming Peloton schedule for a short time before being removed. This was originally scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 15th @ 10:20am ET. This slot seems to have been a class intended for a future on-demand release, which was accidentally posted to the public live schedule instead.
While “AOUK-288” is likely an internal production code, the class title hints at the introduction of a new type of meditation experience, potentially with instructors who have not previously taught meditation content.

Though not confirmed, the title suggests that this meditation – “Peloton Wind Down: Nightcap” classes – is designed to help members unwind at the end of the day – but it is not exactly a sleep meditation. This appears to be part of an initiative by Peloton to delve further into wellness areas such as rest and sleep, as the company has teased in recent interviews. They have already started dipping their toes in the water with post-meal walks, which were recently introduced on the platform.
In case you missed it, over the summer we reported that Peloton’s Chief Content Officer Jennifer Cotter hinted at a possible new line of business for Peloton: nutrition, sleep, and rest. At the time, Cotter explained:
“I think that we’ll just be using the brain space that would have been spent on live classes that day to come up with new programs, new ways to distribute wellness content, new categories of business to go in, like nutrition and rest and sleep, which we’ve not really done as deeply as we plan to do.”
Peloton then went on to share a longer statement and more context about Peloton nutrition & wellness with us.
This new Peloton wind down / “nightcap” meditation likely falls under the “rest and sleep” category that Cotter mentioned Peloton could focus on more strongly.
Furthermore, Jon Hosking is not currently a part of Peloton’s regular meditation instructor lineup, signaling that if this new class becomes part of a larger meditation category, members might see more fresh faces leading meditation classes. If Peloton is indeed rolling out a new wind-down series, this could introduce not only new styles of meditation but new voices guiding members through the practice.
This would not be the first time Peloton has experimented with their meditation content. Last year they introduced walking meditations, blending mindfulness with movement to bring a different approach to their existing offerings.
While the “AOUK-288” class has already disappeared from the upcoming schedule, it offers a sneak peek into what is possibly coming next from Peloton: a stronger focus on the nighttime wind-down routine, with new instructors guiding members through meditation content.
We will share updates as they become available; would you be interested in seeing new meditation offerings from Peloton?
