All Peloton Studios New York classes have been cancelled for Friday, May 29, 2026, due to a track fire at nearby Penn Station that disrupted rail service across the area early Friday morning.
Peloton announced the cancellation on Instagram at around 7:50am ET, writing:
“Due to a track fire at Penn Station, in the interest of safety of our members and team, all Peloton Studios New York classes will be cancelled today, May 29th. If you were booked for class, please check your email for more information. We will work to reschedule our planned programming. See you back soon!”
There are still live classes taking place from London – this is only impacting the live classes due to be broadcast from New York today.
The closure follows a fire that broke out on a maintenance train on track 11 at Penn Station around 1:30am ET, according to the New York Fire Department. Firefighters brought it under control around 4:00am, with the cause under investigation. Five rail workers were injured, two seriously, and were taken to Bellevue Hospital. NJ Transit, the Long Island Rail Road, and Amtrak all suspended or significantly disrupted service into and out of Penn Station through the morning commute.
Peloton Studios New York sits in the Manhattan West complex on 10th Avenue, just steps from Moynihan Train Hall and Penn Station, so the wider transit disruption affects how members, guests, and staff can reach the studio.

Becs Gentry shared more about the conditions on her Instagram stories, noting that the air inside the studio itself was affected. She wrote:
“The smoke in the area and in our studios was awful and unsafe to be exposed to, let alone to exercise in. To our members who came in for their in-person session we adore you, I’m glad I got to see you (yes made it before knowing the details!) Enjoy a beautiful NYC morning and hopefully I’ll see you back at the studio and on the LB tomorrow.”
For members who were booked into a class today, Peloton said to check email for more information. Classes that would have been live in studio are being shown on the live schedule as encore presentations of prior classes instead.
