Bug with Peloton programs (getting credit for classes taken) is fixed

Peloton has fixed a bug that was preventing members from receiving credit for classes taken as part of Peloton Programs.

The issue, which was widely reported by members throughout last week, meant that workouts completed within a program were not being counted toward program progress – even though members were completing the classes as expected.

On Monday, February 9, Peloton acknowledged the issue on their status page with an incident report titled “Workouts Not Being Credited for Programs.” The initial update stated:

Team is investigating an issue with workouts not being credited for Program progress.

Later in the day, Peloton provided a follow-up confirming the issue had been mitigated – however, they were still working to retroactively give credit. They said:

Team has mitigated the issue, starting Monday 2/9 at 10amEST members taking classes will now get Program credit. Team is looking into backfilling program credit, expect all Program Credit to be complete by end of the week

This means that members who take program classes going forward should now receive credit as expected. For members who were affected by the bug last week and had classes that were not counted toward their program progress, Peloton says they will be backfilling that program credit – and expect it to be completed by the end of this week.

Members should not need to retake any classes.

Peloton was able to get the backfill completed quicker than expected, and shared that as of 10am ET on February 11th, anyone who had missing credit should now have it.

This is the latest in a series of bugs Peloton has addressed in recent months. In January, Peloton acknowledged a bug causing some members to lose workout data from their history – though in that case, Peloton said previously lost data could not be recovered. Prior to that, there was a bug with PR badges not being awarded, which Peloton also resolved with a retroactive backfill.
