Peloton at Texas – Branded Peloton Area in Gym at University of Texas

Peloton has entered a partnership with the University of Texas (UT) that will see Peloton Bike+ and Row devices in the on-campus Gregory Gym.

The University of Texas shared the news via Instagram, writing:

Introducing Peloton at Texas – the first immersive, Peloton® workout space in campus recreation where the collective energy of group fitness meets the individual focus of a workout. Now open inside Gregory Gym.

A new webpage is available with more information. Gregory Gym, often referred to as “Greg Gym,” is the main fitness and recreation center at the University of Texas. The new Peloton workout space will feature numerous Bikes+ and Rows – along with additional accessories such as workouts mats – in a specially-branded Peloton room.

All UT students will gain access to the Peloton platform through this partnership. This is reportedly the “first immersive, Peloton workout space in campus recreation”. Community members are encouraged to join the #PelotonatTexas hashtag to connect with fellow Longhorns, discover popular workouts, compete in real-time, and share encouragement through virtual high-fives.

This new partnership is a continuation of Peloton’s “college strategy,” which was first announced in 2023. The strategy launched with the University of Michigan and the goal is for Peloton to partner with universities, colleges, and even athletes.

This initiative has also seen Peloton try to place Peloton devices in other college campuses around the country, in a way to introduce people to Peloton – though this appears to be the most in-depth push so far into a college campus. College students who work out with Peloton on campus are much more likely to then become Peloton hardware owners, or app users, after they graduate if they get into the habit while at school.
