Peloton is once again teaming up with GirlTREK for a special community event called the “Peloton x GirlTREK Black Family 5K,” featuring instructors Jess Sims and Kirsten Ferguson.
The event is set to take place on Sunday, December 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., beginning at Peloton Studios New York (PSNY).
This invitation-only event is designed to celebrate family, community, and wellness, providing a unique opportunity for participants to walk alongside Peloton instructors as GirlTREK Crew Leaders through the streets of New York City.
The invitation describes the Black Family 5K as a gathering centered on family, gratitude, and health, encouraging participants to connect with one another while reflecting on the Thanksgiving season.
As a guided walk, the event promotes not only physical activity but also the joy of togetherness, with participants encouraged to bring high energy and a shared commitment to well-being – along with their best walking shoes, of course. RSVPs are required, with Peloton emailing out invites to people last week.
The full description reads:
Join GirlTREK and Peloton for our annual Black Family 5K Walk, starting at Peloton Studios in the heart of New York City! This event is a celebration of family, gratitude, and well-being, offering the perfect chance to connect with others, reflect on the spirit of Thanksgiving, and take strides toward a healthier you. You and your family will also have the opportunity to join Peloton Instructors Kirsten Ferguson & Jess Sims, and GirlTREK Crew Leaders, as they co-lead the walk through New York City’s streets.

Peloton and GirlTREK have collaborated previously. Earlier this fall, the two organizations hosted a series of “Sisterhood Saturdays” events in major cities like Dallas, Washington D.C., Houston, and New York, connecting communities and promoting GirlTREK’s mission of empowering Black women to prioritize their health through walking.
GirlTREK has also been involved with Peloton through the 2021 Peloton Pledge, an initiative focused on supporting marginalized communities and fostering inclusivity.
