Issues with iOS Peloton App – Some Members Unable to Log in and Take Classes

Peloton is experiencing an issue with the iOS Peloton app that is preventing some members from being able to log in and take classes. Beginning yesterday, January 20, 2024 members reported that they were unable to log into their Peloton app on Apple devices. The issue appears to be related to the latest software update.

Essentially, when members attempt to log into their iOS Peloton app they are unable to do so. Even resetting the password does not resolve the issue. However, the same members are able to access their Peloton accounts via the web browser or their hardware devices such as the Bike, Tread, or Row.

Members have contacted Peloton Support about the problem, and Peloton staff have indicated they are aware of the issue and are looking into it. One member reported receiving the below response:

We have been receiving multiple similar reports from iPhone users since the latest update. We are already investigating this and we’ll be sending you updates once we have a resolution. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience.

However, as of publishing time Peloton has not posted an official incident report on the status page. The problem appears to be limited to the iOS app and is not affecting the Android app. There is currently no timeline for a potential fix.

It is unclear how far-reaching this issue is. Not all iPhone users appear to be impacted, but many have reported the inability to use their Peloton iOS app, including on this Reddit thread.

    I am having trouble starting classes on Apple TV app lately – the classes I stack on the bike will not start on the iOS app Apple TV. When I select the class through ‘classes’, that same class I stacked earlier may or may not start (spinning hell wheel and black background). This applies to all classes selected. It is very erratic. This problem began two days ago.
    Frustrating.

    I started having the problem on the 24th. I have talked with Apple & peloton without resolution. As of today I still can’t log on the app. I paid for a year and can’t use it. I deleted app, deleted cookies, reinstalled app. Even tried another email address. Nothing!

    Since updating the app on my IOS device I can’t access account, either. Ugh.
