As anticipated back when the feature was first announced, Peloton has unveiled a new filter to easily locate pace target classes on the Tread and Tread+.
Initially introduced in June, Pace Targets allow runners to stay within personalized speed ranges during classes, helping them achieve specific workout goals more efficiently. Rather than cueing a specific speed, the instructor indicates an effort level. Those effort levels are automatically mapped out and displayed to speed ranges on the Tread based on the difficulty level selected by the member. If you’re unfamiliar with Peloton’s pace target levels, you can find a comprehensive overview via our guide.

The feature was quickly embraced by the Peloton community, yet members had to rely solely on the Pace Target collection to easily find relevant classes – or simply scroll the library to look for the small “Pace Targets” icon on images – until now.
This week, Peloton added a new “Pace Targets” filter feature on the Peloton Tread & Tread+. This filter allows users to more easily narrow down their on-demand classes to only those featuring pace targets.

The update was teased earlier by Peloton in their weekly “This Week at Peloton” post, along with the highlighting of new pace target classes on the way.
Previously, finding Pace Target classes required navigating through the Pace Targets collection, but now, users can pair the new filter with other class options, offering greater flexibility when browsing. This means you can now search for only pace target classes of certain lengths, or by certain instructors – or with any other combination of filters.
While this filter streamlines the experience on Tread and Tread+, the functionality has yet to be added to other Peloton platforms like the app or web browser, much like the restriction with the Peloton Row during its first year. As the feature evolves, we could eventually see app and web browser accessibility for pace target classes.

For now, those looking to dive into Pace Target classes can utilize the new filter on their Tread/Tread+, access the dedicated collection, or check out our site for a list of pace target classes.
We shared last month that Peloton plans to bring pace targets to walking classes as well.
Earlier this month, Peloton also held special pace-target events at their London & New York studios to help educate members on the new feature and discuss it more with the community.
Will you be utilizing this new pace target filter to easily locate pace target classes moving forward?
