Peloton is making a shift in their live class schedule with members, and reducing how many days each week members can take classes in-person live from London.
Effective July 1, 2024, Peloton Studios London will only have in-person live classes with members on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This means they will be removing live member classes on Thursdays & Mondays from the regular schedule. Peloton posted a message on the studio booking site which said:
“Member classes at Peloton Studios London will be available for bookings Friday – Sunday commencing 1 July. Please see our schedule or the FAQ for more details.”

At this time, Peloton says there are no expected changes to the Peloton Studios New York schedule, which will remain Thursday – Monday.
Note that although there won’t be live classes with members – this is not expected to impact the overall schedule & number of classes offered on-demand and live to home riders. In other words – the same number of classes are likely to still take place Thursday & Monday (and every other day for that matter) – there just won’t be any members in those classes now.
Historically, Peloton Studios London and Peloton Studios New York have both been open for member classes at the same time periods. In London, there have typically been 2-3 member classes each Thursday evening – but usually no noon classes like NYC has. Then, on Mondays, there have typically been one or two classes in the 7:00am hour. Unlike New York, there was never a longer block of classes going until around noon.
Peloton says this schedule shift is occurring “as we enter the summer season”. You can see the full update from Peloton below:
Starting 1 July, we are adjusting our studio booking schedules for the London studio as we enter the summer season. Studio classes at Peloton Studios London will be adjusted to 3 days each week; Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays only. There is no change to Peloton Studios New York studio bookings.
The way this message is worded, it’s not clear if members should expect the schedule to be expanded again once summer is over. If & when we find this out, we will share an update.

As a reminder, you can find a full list of dates both Peloton Studios New York & London are expected to be closed in 2024 here. And if you’re looking for tips and tricks on how to book a in-person class, you can find those here.
There are a number of reasons this change could have taken place. One reason is it could part of a broader cost cutting effort, that saw a layoff of nearly 400 employees earlier this month. Another possible reason is that Peloton may have a harder time getting enough members to fill the studios on those days. There could be other unknown reasons for this change as well.

Very disappointing to hear / read that live studio classes for it’s members at PSL are being reduced to just 3 days a week during the summer months and can only assume this is part of a cost cutting exercise as opposed to classes not being full . 🤔🤔 Would be useful to get Peloton to provide further clarity on this and whether it is only temporary as not clear from the statement issued .
Thank goodness, live member studio classes are annoying.
The platform is designed for the home user, who has spent thousands on a bike and who continues to pay a fairly steep monthly subscription fee, and who deserves the full attention of the instructor.
Three out of seven days is more than enough for those who want to go to live classes outside of SoulCycle, and other platforms specifically designed for that.
Could it be that Leanne and Ben are getting married and taking some time off so they are down two teachers?!
