Matt Wilpers to Teach Peloton 2 Hour Cycling Class

Following the news about the first-ever 90 minute run to be offered on the Peloton platform – which is the longest ever on the platform – Peloton will also soon hold a 120 minute cycling class.

Update – This article initially said this would be the first ever 2 hour ride. Many years ago, there were a handful of cycling classes that were also 2 hours, but they have been purged from the library for several years now. This new ride from Matt, however, is the first power zone class of this length.

When studio bookings opened at 12:00pm ET on September 21 for six weeks out on October 26-30, a 120 minute Power Zone Endurance Ride with Matt Wilpers appeared on the schedule for Saturday, October 28 at 7:00am ET.

The post includes a video in which Matt explains that he has been asking to do a ride of this length for years.

90 minutes is the absolute maximum class length currently offered by Peloton – and until the new 90 minute runs, that length was only available in cycling. So far, rides longer than 60 minutes – 75 minutes, 90 minutes, and now 120 minutes – have been reserved for Power Zone Endurance rides. These classes are primarily taught by Matt, as well as Christine D’Ercole and Erik Jäger.

Though not confirmed, we do not anticipate that 2 hour rides will become a regular occurrence at Peloton – rather, something added to the schedule every now and then.

Matt’s 120 minute Power Zone Endurance ride will take place on Saturday, October 28 at 7:00am ET. Will you be opting in, and do you enjoy seeing new longer form content from Peloton?
