Music Videos + Interview during the Lindsey Stirling Peloton class with Becs Gentry

Earlier this week, Peloton had a Lindsey Stirling Peloton run, taught by Becs Gentry. This class took place on May 28th @ 5:00pm ET.

When the class was first announced with Lindsey (who is a violin player), we shared that it seemed like two things might be taking place during this class:

  1. Lindsey Stirling would be at Peloton Studios New York for the class
  2. Some video elements may be incorporated into the class

Both of these ended up happening. Lindsey Stirling was in fact in-person at PSNY, along with other members in the studio. Lindsey was highlighted on Tread #4, and had a camera focused on her as well as having a microphone. This allowed for her to have a discussion and be interviewed during the class.

Unlike some other classes where special guests haven’t been into the working out part of the class, it appears that Lindsey was really doing the full workout taught by Becs. Even after (and during) some intervals, she was still able to have a full conversation with Becs, without sounding out of breath from it as well.

In addition to the interview – Peloton also was able to incorporate showing some of Lindsey’s music videos during class.

At two different times during class, the video cut away from Becs in the studio, and began playing a Lindsey Stirling music video onscreen.

Once or twice during the video, the class changed to be a split screen: still showing the music video, but showing Becs in a smaller window so she would give some quick coaching as well. The video then changed back to full screen to finish up the music video.

After class, Lindsey got off the Tread and joined Becs at the center of the studio to do the post-run stretches together with Becs. The class then had an extended outro, as another music video was premiered.

This is just one of a handful of classes Peloton has ever incorporated video elements into. A previous artist series was the Blink-182 artist series. While one class featured Kendall Toole teaching a class live from a recording studio with drummer Travel Barker, Kendall Toole’s ride featured some video clips of Travis Barker drumming along.

This last holiday season, Peloton also had a Paramount Holiday ride taught by Kendall Toole as well. In that class, clips of some movies were shown during the class.

Note that although some social media teasers showed Lindsey playing violin next to Becs on the Tread – this did not happen during class itself and was just a fun clip created for social media before or after class. Lindsey instead was there running the entire class on the Tread, as we covered above.

Lindsay is a beast! She competed on Dancing With the Stars and was a VERY close second! Love seeing her join the Peloton family.
