On Thursday, June 28th Peloton Studios New York (PSNY) held several classes as part of their Lil Jon artist series.
Uniquely, at 6:15pm Dr. Chelsea Jackson Roberts co-led a 10 min meditation in studio alongside Lil Jon. Shortly thereafter at 7:30pm ET, Peloton held a Club Bangers x Lil Jon bike class taught by Alex Toussaint with special in studio guest DJ (and singer, and rapper) Lil Jon.
When the artist series was initially announced with Lil Jon, we shared that Lil Jon would be in attendance at PSNY for two classes. Not only did this end up being the case; it went a step further, with Lil Jon both instructing the meditation, and DJing for Alex Toussaint’s ride.
Lil Jon not only attended Chelsea Jackson Roberts’s meditation – he co-led the meditation along side her in the front of the studio on his own mat. Meditation isn’t brand new to Lil Jon, as he has released two meditation albums in the past six months. The music played during the meditation was from Lil Jon’s newest meditation album, Manifest Abundance.
Lil Jon starts the meditation with “this is the most lit I’m going to get today” which allows the member to know exactly how radiant they are going to feel after the class. Both Chelsea & Lil Jon takes turns guiding the members through the meditation and breathing exercises during the 10 minute class.

Shortly after the meditation class, Lil Jon joined Alex Toussaint for a Club Bangers ride – Alex’s signature class that was introduced back in 2019.
Club Bangers is a ride where you are imagining yourself entering a club with Alex and warming up to the beats while you anxiously are waiting in line for the doors to open. As the doors swing open and you make your way into the club the beats become increasingly louder and faster. You hear the DJ and can’t stay off the dance floor no matter how hard you try. During your ride Alex dances and has as much fun instructing the class as he would a night on the town.
What made this Club Bangers special was it was as if what we had all been imagining in our own homes and in Alex’s head came to life for all of us to see. Immediately you see the DJ smiling when the class starts and it’s Lil Jon. He has a microphone and is singing along to some of his own songs and other artists as well throughout the class.

Peloton member Skye B. (#RatedRnB) was live in person from Peloton Studios New York, and shared this about the energy in the room during the class:
“The energy in that class was on a level I had never felt before! I have been in some extremely energetic classes but this one was on an entirely different level. I think this classes like this Lil Jon one are great for the riders at home. Sometimes we get on our bikes even when we don’t feel like it so to have a class with this type of energy behind it is going to get anyone going.”
This is not the first time that artists have shown up to their own artist series & performed – including people like Mariah Carey and Lizzo. However, this ride went beyond anything Peloton has done in the past with a featured artist.

Lil Jon moved from the DJ booth to the stage and was rapping and dancing to the tunes. He was doing exactly what DJ’s do and was adjusting his intensity to the instructor and the audience. The camera gave several different views for the member at home taking the class. On occasion the camera followed Lil Jon on stage as he walked through the bikes. There were close ups of him as he looked directly into the camera, there were shots from behind the DJ from Lil Jon’s angle, and of course a front view when he was on stage.

During what felt like a private concert between Lil Jon and a few of your friends, Alex was not missing a beat instructing you through the class calling out resistance and cadence recommendations.
That energy that studio audience felt extended to home riders, with Lynn O (#MrsLynn) saying that “Peloton brought it! Call the firefighters because this Club Bangers with Alex T. & Lil Jon was FIRE! The energy and vibes were everything, making the class fun and forgetting you were working out from home. Best one yet, truly enjoyed it.”

This class included music that Lil Jon sang and produced, but also music from a variety of other genres. Artists such as Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus, Nelly, Bon Jovi, Dua Lipa, Sexxy Red, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Uzi Vert were on the playlist. Another surprise in the class was two other Peloton instructors, Ash Pryor and Camila Raymon, appeared as shot girls while Lil Jon played the song “Shots” serving up Peloton H2O to attendees.

After the class was over, Lil Jon joined Alex on stage as he sang and danced till the club closed its doors.
Lil Jon’s involvement with Peloton highlights the importance of music in fitness. His ability to turn any setting into a high-energy environment aligns seamlessly with Peloton’s goal of making workouts enjoyable and exhilarating. Lil Jon is no stranger to collaborating with fitness powerhouses such as Peloton; he hit the Zumba scene in 2013 when he released a song called “Work” for their Nightclub Series.

Whether you’re a seasoned rider or new to the Peloton community, the Lil Jon Club Bangers ride promises an unforgettable experience that will have you coming back for more.
If you didn’t get enough Lil Jon music, there were 4 other classes for the Lil Jon series. Note that Lil Jon does not make an appearance in these.
