Peloton “Form Fixer” Rowing Classes with Alex Karwoski & Guest Instructors

Peloton has launched a new rowing class series this week called “Form Fixer”, led by Alex Karwoski.

This is a series of 2-for-1 classes, where Alex and a guest instructor are both featured on camera.

However, the guest instructor to join Alex will not be a regular rowing instructor. Instead, it will be one of the non-rowing Peloton instructors.

They will be rowing beside Alex while he leads the class. And throughout the class – Alex will be looking at their form, and giving them immediate, real-time feedback and tips on what they can fix.

The idea is that if Peloton members who take the class notice they are doing some of the same things the guest instructor is doing, and sees how Alex is able to immediately correct those issues – they might be able to spot those same issues on their own form and make those corrections.

There will be 4 Peloton Form Fixer classes to start off with that will drop each week. The schedule and list of guest instuctors in Alex Karwoski’s Form Fixer rowing classes is:

  • Ally Love – 3/19/25
  • Marcel Dinkins – 3/26/25
  • Rad Lopez – 4/2/25
  • Jess King – 4/9/25

While each class is sure to be a little different, there will likely be some similarities to expect after the first class with Ally Love. In that class, through the course of 20 minutes, he pointed out small things to Ally, such as how she had some tightness in her shoulders and guided her to relax.

He also pointed out that as she did the higher level efforts, her body would break towards the end of the catch – and advised her to keep an eye on that at all pace levels.

In addition to the guidance, there was some banter back and forth with both of them sharing a little information about themselves. Ally asked Alex a rowing-related question which she had never seen an answer to – which was what to do with your thumbs while rowing. He coached that a good drill is to keep your thumbs on top of the handle – as that forces you to not grip as tight, which helps with your overall form.

A unique twist to this class was that at about the halfway point of the class, after instructing those at home and Ally to keep rowing, Alex actually dismounted from his own rower. He stood next to Ally and physically pointed to parts of her form to help give her feedback. After a few minutes, Alex got back on his rower and then continued to provide verbal cues.

Ally at one part of the class turned the tables on Alex and asked what his form challenges were. He pointed out that he breaks his arms sometimes, and that during harder efforts, he has a tendency to do a little bit of a grab at the start of each stroke.

While the focus of these classes is on providing form guidance to the guest instructor, it still has the structure and effort levels of a regular class – with effort levels in the first class alternating between easy, moderate, and challenging.

The rest of the Peloton Form Fixer classes will be released weekly over the next 4 weeks.

This new series comes about one month after Alex Karwoski was also added as a Peloton Tread instructor.
