Peloton has some brand new classes this morning in support of Ed Sheeran’s newest album Substract.
There are 3 classes available – all are outdoor audio walking classes. This means they are only available to take on the Peloton app (which is about to have new pricing tiers later this month.
These classes are a new format for Peloton – they feature Ed Sheeran explaining the back-story behind some of the songs, and doing a mini interview with Jon Hosking as the class progresses. You’ll hear from Ed in between each song as the class progresses.
In addition, members are able to listen to songs from the new album, which was just released today. If you take the 60 minute class, you’ll hear every song from the album.
Jon Hosking sat down with Ed Sheeran in person to record the classes, as highlighted in some behind-the-scenes photos from the Peloton Studios Instagram account, seen below:
You can find the full list of new Peloton Ed Sheeran classes below. As previously mentioned, they are all outdoor audio walking classes.

Peloton discussed the new format of the classes in a press release:
Timed to the release of Subtract around May being Mental Health Awareness Month, and in an effort to meet Members wherever they are, Peloton is ramping up its content for Peloton Outdoor by giving Members a one-of-a-kind workout experience that combines music, movement and dialogue from Sheeran himself. Each class follows a similar format with introductions by Hosking, Heinze and Sheeran, who will welcome Members to join him in a musical journey through mindful and engaging, low-impact walks. Content features Sheeran sharing personal anecdotes about Subtract and mental health with the Peloton community. Classes are offered in lengths of 30 and 60 minutes, as well as a 30-minute German class featuring Heinze. The 60-minute class format will allow Members to have a complete album experience while they enjoy the outdoors, a first for Peloton.
Peloton highlighted this is a new format to collaborate with an artist, beyond what they’ve done with their traditional artist series classes – so it’s possible we might see more album releases like this in the future:
We’re embarking on a completely new way to collaborate with an artist with this drop,” said Gwen Bethel Riley, Peloton’s SVP of Music and Content Partnerships.
This is not the first time Peloton has highlighted the music of Ed Sheeran. To help celebrate the opening of the new Peloton Studios London, Peloton held an Ed Sheeran artist series back in 2021.
