Peloton’s newest strength training program is here.
Andy Speer is leading a new “Total Strength: Density Training 2” program. This is a 4-week strength training program, “designed to build strength and muscle, now using a bench.” For those who don’t have a bench, Andy will share some alternate moves you can do instead.
This marks the first time a weight bench has been used at Peloton before.
In introducing the program, Andy notes this program is “serious work”. He also clarifies what Density Training is – which is “a method of training where, over time, we increase the workload of a specific block of time, which we call our rep block.”
Andy teases in a post that these are time efficient, builds lean muscles, improves strength and body composition. He goes on to say that it combines classic strength work with high metabolic output.
Week 1 acts as the benchmark week for the program, then in each following week, you’ll be adding either more weight, more reps, or both as you progress. You’ll be repeating the same moves each week – but hopefully with more reps or weight vs the previous week.
Each week of the program consists of 3 main classes. Within each class, you’ll have 2 main work blocks that are 10 minutes each.

However, like the first Density Training program which was released last year – this strength training program will be found in the “Collections” section of the Peloton app.
It still is divided by week, and has a structure and progression to guide you through the program. But, since it is in the collections area of the Peloton app, you can pick and choose which classes you want to take when, and aren’t locked into the rigid structure of a true Peloton program.
Peloton teased this program was on the way last week.
As always, you can find full details on this new program below, including a full list of classes in it. And you can find info on every Peloton program here. You can also find some tracker graphics at the end of this post.

Having a bench is great but the AI in guide is not ready for prime time and you get stuck in the AMRAP which kills the class. Secondly, the instructions programed the guide do not match the instructions from Andy so there is poor quality control on Week 1 day 3 class
