This past weekend was one of dual celebration for Peloton instructor Christine D’Ercole, who not only marked a birthday but also added six new medals to her impressive collection at the U.S. Masters Track National Championships.
The 2024 U.S. Masters Track National Championships took place at the Rock Hill Velodrome in South Carolina from August 6-11, drawing top cyclists from across the country.
Competing in a range of individual and team events, Christine won a mix of gold, silver, and bronze medals. You can see which events Christine competed in and how she placed below:
- 500 Meter Time Trial Women 50-54 – 1st Place (Gold Medal)
- Individual Pursuit Women 50-54 – 3rd Place (Bronze Medal)
- Scratch Race Women 50-54 –: 2nd Place (Silver Medal)
- Points Race Women 50-54 – 1st Place (Gold Medal)
- Match Sprint Women 50-54 – 2nd Place (Silver Medal)
- Team Sprint Women 45+ – 1st Place (Gold Medal)
Christine shared some of her experiences via social media over the weekend, including one post talking about both her birthday and her medals:
53 looks happy on me, if I do say so myself.
Something really special happened yesterday.
I woke up so excited to race. No anxiety. No nerves. Just so excited to play bikes.
And I experienced such a powerful rush of joy and freedom and flying-
I have tears in my eyes writing this.
Every moment I doubted myself going into this Championships utterly disappeared.
WOW.
JOY… JOY… JOY…
I hope everyone has something that makes them feel tremendous joy.
