Bug with blue dots, activity counts, and classes being marked as taken on Peloton

There appears to be a bug on the Peloton platform this morning related to stats after classes have been taken – as well as the leaderboard for other members.

There are widespread reports of bugs impacting the blue dot streaks, the total workout count of each class type, as well as classes getting marked as taken on the Peloton platform. All of these bugs seem related but are just manifesting in different ways on the platform.

One issue is that some members are not getting their “blue dot” on their workout calendar – signifying that they have gotten status towards their streak. Members are taking a class, and not seeing the calendar recognize this and give them credit towards their streak.

Another related issue is that for many members, after they complete the class, they are not getting the checkmark shown on classes they just completed. This is another way Peloton denotes that members have taken classes.

In a unique quirk, this bug also appears to be impacting members in other ways. Others are reporting that even though they haven’t taken classes – they are seeing the checkmark show up for every single class on the platform – so they can’t visibility tell which ones they have or haven’t taken.

Finally, for members who aren’t getting the checkmark on their completed classes – this is impacting the counts of their activities on the platform. Peloton displays separate counts of completed classes per modality on people’s profiles – helping people as their work their way towards a milestone in each class type.

Currently, many members are reporting that even after doing classes, those numbers are not increasing.

Finally, other members are reporting issues with the leaderboard in Peloton classes. Some members are reporting that the leaderboard is showing 0 members with a spinning wheel – like it is unable to update and show the correct list & count of other members in the class.

Update: Around 9:30am ET, Peloton created an official bug report about this issue.

Although this bug comes shortly after some changes to when and which streaks Peloton highlights in the app, the timing of this bug is likely a coincidence and unrelated to that.
