Peloton Beta Testing Walking Pace Target Classes

Peloton has recently begun beta testing the addition of walking pace target classes.

UpdateWalking pace target classes went live in June 2025.

This marks the next phase of their pace target classes – which officially launched for running classes on Tread & Tread+ last summer. Peloton then brought pace target features to the Peloton app for running earlier this year.

However, until now, only running classes have been taught using the pace target features. No walking classes to date have been taught with pace targets.

Soon after the launch of pace targets for running, instructors teased and mentioned that they were working on Pace Target classes.

After months of teases and hints – Peloton has now started offering walking pace target classes to some of their beta testers.

Similar to how there is an Intro to Pace Targets for running class, look for there to be an Intro To Pace Targets for Walking class as well once they officially launch.

This class will guide members through all of the pace target zones, allowing members to sample each zone, and make sure that it is comfortable and appropriate for whatever level they have selected for themselves.

Although Peloton is actively beta testing these walking pace target classes, it is not known when they will officially launch and be available to all members.

The addition of Peloton pace target classes for walking comes as Peloton has converted almost every single new running class they create to be a pace target class. This was always expected to be their approach – only teaching pace target classes – as pace target classes allow the instruction to be more personalized to each member’s current fitness level.

If you aren’t familiar with Peloton’s pace target classes, you can see an overview of how it works for running classes here.

We will share more details on Peloton pace target walking classes as they become available.
