Peloton Arms & Light Weights Classes Expanded to the Tread

Peloton has introduced a new class variation in regards to their popular Arms & Light Weight classes. These classes have historically taken place in a seated position from a Peloton Bike, meaning that only cycling instructors have taught these classes.

This week Peloton unveiled Arms & Light Weight classes on the Tread, which has opened up the format to new instructors. Peloton shared the news via the @PelotonStudios Instagram stories.

Four initial classes were released to the on-demand library on June 14 at 10:00am ET. Each are 10 minutes in length – the same duration as Arms & Light Weight classes filmed on the Bike – and are taught by instructors Matty Maggiacomo, Jess King, Jeffrey McEachern (in German), and Joslyn Thompson Rule.

This is the first Arms & Light Weights content for Matty, Jeffrey, and Joslyn. Jess already has a number of Arms & Light Weights classes during which she sits on the Bike. In these new Arms & Light Weight classes, the instructors stand on the Tread itself.

The class description reads:

Grab your free weights and work your arms! Pair this with a Tread class for the perfect stack.

The traditional Arms & Light Weights description is the same except it mentions a cycling class – which indicates that this new format is likely to encourage more Tread users to stack their running or walking classes with an Arms & Light Weights strength class. Peloton is also opening up the format to additional instructors through this expansion.

Note that these classes are available in the on demand library on non-Tread hardware such as the Peloton Bike – the same way Arms & Light Weights classes are available on other devices even though the content is filmed in the cycling studio.

We anticipate more Arms & Light Weights classes filmed on a Tread to be released moving forward, along with traditional Arms &Light Weights classes that are filmed on a Peloton Bike.

Are you happy to see Arms & Light Weights content expanded to additional Peloton instructors and filmed from a Tread?
