Some Peloton Arms & Light Weights Classes Can Now Be Taken on Any Device (Filmed In Strength Studio)

Fans of Peloton’s Arms & Light Weights strength classes may have noticed a new filming location in recent weeks: the Peloton strength studio.

For the longest time, there has been a noticeable quirk when it comes to Arms & Light Weights classes: members can only take the content on specific devices, and the classes were not globally available. Even though the instructors do not teach cycling or running during these classes, they are still on a specific device – i.e. the Bike or the Tread.

This means that members cannot access Arms & Light Weights content filmed on a Bike on the Tread; and members cannot access Arms & Light Weights content filmed on a Tread on the Bike. The only workaround was to access the classes via the digital app.

This was an interesting set-up because the classes are found under the Strength modality – not cycling or running.

However, some newer classes are removing that restriction by taking place in the Peloton strength studio. Starting in June of 2024 Peloton has released Arms & Light Weights classes that can be taken on any device or platform, including the Bike or Tread, without any restrictions.

Note that not every new Arms & Light Weights class is filmed from the strength studio; there are still a handful of new classes dropping periodically to the on-demand library that are filmed from the Bike or Tread. It is possible that these are older recordings only being released now, as all Arms & Light Weights classes are pre-recorded; none take place live.

Arms & Light Weight classes have been a staple of the Peloton platform for years; and just last year they started to be filmed from the Tread studio with running instructors for the first time.

You can find all available classes by navigating to the strength modality in the Peloton on-demand library and filtering by the “Arms & Light Weights” option.

Are you excited to be able to access Peloton’s new Arms & Light Weights via any device?
