Peloton’s Producer of Music Programming, DJ John Michael Di Spirito is back teaching classes again.
Earlier last week, DJ John Michael responded to a Peloton member’s recent question he received on Facebook about if Peloton was no longer doing Live DJ Runs or Rides. John Michael shared in an Instagram video why he’s been gone for nearly 6 months from Peloton classes.

The original member’s question on Facebook was, “I’m so sorry if this has been discussed before (I searched and couldn’t find anything), but is Peloton not doing Live DJ Rides or Runs anymore? I miss DJ John Michael Di Spirito.”
DJ John Michael said that his last live class was a Live DJ Ride with Cody Rigsby on November 21, 2025.
He shared that about 7 minutes into the live class (during the third song in class, “Bug a Boo” by Destiny’s Child), Cody said something to him, John Michael turned towards Cody, and “all of a sudden I feel what feels like a rip, a pop, a tear, something has happened in my hip, and now I cannot stand on it.”
DJ John Michael went on to say how at the time he went into autopilot mode, realized he couldn’t stand on his right leg, and shifted his weight to his left leg for the remainder of the class. He did not want to stop the live production of the class and “arm choreo-ed my way through it.”
Initially, he thought he might have dislocated his right hip and texted his husband during the class when the cameras were not on him that he needed to go to the hospital.
DJ John Michael went on to say that it’s been a months-long process physically (including doctor visits, tests, MRIs, and physical therapy) as well as dealing behind-the-scenes with worker’s compensation, since the injury occurred in the workplace. Ultimately, he shared in a subsequent Instagram story that he had a labral tear, a hamstring tear, as well as arthritis in his hip.
Along with the backstory of what happened with his injury, DJ John Michael announced his return to live classes would be a Live DJ Run with Adrian Williams on April 16 at 5:30 PM ET. This class is now available to take on demand.
DJ John Michael also said he has more live DJ rides and runs that will be coming up in his schedule in the near future
