Peloton CEO Peter Stern offered insights into the company’s future hardware pipeline during Peloton’s most recent earnings call, telling investors he expects “meaningful announcements” related to new products within the next 12 to 18 months.
While Stern stopped short of revealing specific details or timelines, his comments suggested that Peloton’s hardware team is actively working on new equipment as part of a broader strategy to return the company to growth.
Responding to a question about what gives him confidence that growth is ahead, Stern pointed to Peloton’s evolving product lineup and its ability to move quickly in the hardware space. He stated:
“Let me talk about the path back to growth…The first one is we are developing a more complete set of product offerings across the right array of fitness and wellness categories and with the right price points. I’m not here to share our product roadmap today, and this is a hardware business, so it takes time, but we’re making real rapid progress on this. And if you want a proof point of our ability to do that, I joined in January, and within months, we were shipping a completely revamped product lineup. So this is an organization that is capable of doing hard things, producing quality products on the hardware side.”
In other words: while hardware development takes time, Peloton has already demonstrated its ability to execute; and though he has only been CEO for just over a year, Peloton has already unveiled hardware upgrades during that time.
Later in the call, Stern was asked more directly about Peloton’s longer-term hardware roadmap, including potential new strength equipment and the possibility of a more affordable treadmill option. While he reiterated that earnings calls are not the venue for product reveals, he shared optimism about what is coming next. He explained:
“I remain incredibly impressed by the capabilities of our hardware engineering teams here at Peloton Interactive, Inc. And as I mentioned earlier, they have demonstrated the ability to produce really high-quality equipment in a very short period of time.”
At the same time, Stern stressed the importance of careful design and testing, particularly given the physical demands placed on Peloton’s equipment. He emphasized:
“Hardware…takes time not only to design and engineer it but to make sure we test it. This is the kind of equipment that people run on and engage in other physical activity with regard to equipment, and so we have to be incredibly careful about it.”

Despite those constraints, Stern said he feels confident about what lies ahead. He stated:
“With all of that said, I feel very confident that we will be able to make some meaningful announcements in the next twelve to eighteen months. And that those will start to create new opportunities for us as a company.”
For Peloton members and investors alike, Stern’s comments signal that while new hardware may not be imminent, the company is actively laying the groundwork for future products sometime in 2027.
Peloton unveiled their refreshed and upgraded hardware line – called the Cross Training Series – this past October. One of the topline takeaways from Peloton’s latest earnings report is that initial sales were lower than expected to existing members.
Prior to this, Peloton has not launched a brand new hardware device since the Row in 2022. In 2025 Peloton discontinued their strength-connected device, the Guide, as much of the Guide’s functionality is now incorporated into the Cross Training products.
