Susie Chan’s book, Trails and Tribulations: The Running Adventures of Susie Chan, has been nominated for an award.
Susie announced on her Instagram story on December 5, 2024, that she received an email notifying her that her book was nominated for The Great Outdoors Reader Awards 2025 for the category Outdoor Book or Writer of the Year.
The Great Outdoors Reader Awards is based in the United Kingdom and celebrates outdoor culture. The 2025 Awards has 15 categories, including Walkers’ Pub of the Year, Campsite of the Year, and Outdoor Personality of the Year.
The Outdoor Book or Writer of the Year category recognizes “guidebooks, memoirs, novels, photographic books and more.” Susie’s book is one of 10 that are nominated in the category.
Voting for The Great Outdoors Awards 2025 is open now! Voting will run for about a week, until December 15th, 2024. The Greater Outdoors has been hosting these awards for more than 13 years now. They say:
What makes these Reader Awards different – and gives extra kudos to the winners – is that it’s you, the outdoorgoing public, who decide the results. Only your nominees make it onto the shortlist, and only those who win most of your votes walk away with a top accolade. The nominee with the most votes in each category will receive a Winner award, while the nominees with the second and third most votes will both receive a Commended accolade.
