Last week, we shared that in a recent interview, Peloton Chief Content Officer Jen Cotter had teased that Peloton would be looking at nutrition (along with sleep, and rest) as new business lines that Peloton could be getting more into in the future.
Update – Peloton Nutrition content began to be shared in April 2025.
This update was provided as part of a larger interview as it related to the no live classes taking place on Wednesdays anymore – and as such, not much focus was given in the interview to the mention about nutrition, and what it could mean.
Following that news, Jen Cotter shared an updated statement with us, which provides a little more clarity around what Peloton nutrition might mean for the Peloton community. The full statement will be provided at the end of the article.

One thing to keep in mind with all of this is that it is still in the early days of whatever is being imagined for Peloton nutrition. As such – it is very likely that nothing is set in stone yet, and things are still in the process of being figured out. Peloton had mentioned that they would use the Wednesdays with no classes to spend time thinking on this, and since we’re in the first weeks of those closures – more conversations are probably just beginning to take place around all of this in more detail.
First – Cotter mention that she knew that not all members would want this new nutrition information. As such, Peloton would be careful about how they introduce it and make it available. She said that “We will be careful with how/where we present this information to insure it is additive in nature. There will be no assumptions made that all members want this content.”
Cotter then went on to mention that the focus for the nutrition & wellness content would be “outside of our classes”.
These two parts of the statement seem intended to address one of the biggest concerns we had seen following the initial mention of nutrition: and that is that their favorite classes might be overrun with mentions of nutrition, dieting, or information of that sort. While some members might welcome the information – others have no interest in content like that. By making sure any focus on nutrition is “outside of our classes” – Peloton seems to be aiming for a balance. This will allow members who want to hear more about nutrition to find it – while not forcing it on people during classes, who are just trying to get their workout in.
Second – Cotter stated that this new content was the result of member feedback. According to the statement, one of the most common questions Peloton gets from members is “how best to fuel your body to reach your fitness goals.” As a result, that is why wellness content (including nutrition) is being looked at with a renewed focus. The current intent aims to provide that content with an eye towards helping them achieve whatever their fitness goals are – saying that “wellness content like nutrition (and other areas) to help Members understand the importance of fueling their bodies properly to maximize their personal results. ”
Another big question that we saw following the initial mention of this is who the content would be coming from – whether it would just be the instructors, or there would be information from industry experts as well. Cotter indicates it would be a combination of both, saying that the new area would let them “leverage the expertise of the instructors (and trusted experts)”. This is currently the approach Peloton takes many times with posts on their blog that look at wellness. They combine quotes and information from their instructors, along with using doctors and other experts to provide information as well.
While there are still a lot of questions around what the eventual new focus on wellness & nutrition content may look like (such as whether we might see Peloton supplements or electrolytes for sale as part of this) – it sounds like Peloton members will be able to choose whether they want to see the content or not.
You can find the full statement from Peloton’s Chief Content Officer Jen Cotter as follows:
“The question we get the most from Members is about how best to fuel your body to reach your fitness goals. Since so much of what we do at Peloton is informed by our Members, we have plans to engage more intentionally — outside of our classes — with wellness content like nutrition (and other areas) to help Members understand the importance of fueling their bodies properly to maximize their personal results.
We’re excited that this presents a new way for us to leverage the expertise of the instructors (and trusted experts) and meet our evolving Members needs.
We will be careful with how/where we present this information to insure it is additive in nature. There will be no assumptions made that all members want this content.”
We will share updates in the coming weeks and months as more information about Peloton nutrition & wellness becomes available.

As an expert in the field of Nutrition for over 25 years, how do I get in touch with Peloton to apply?
So, my interpretation of the line about them being aware that not all members will want this content was probably quite cynical. However, I’m assuming that basically means that it won’t be bundled in with monthly membership and is likely to be something that is an additional subscription. I can see them considering a software option like MyFitnessPal that integrates fully with the fitness platform
