Water leak at Peloton Studios causes yoga class cancellation

A water leak at Peloton Studios New York this morning caused the cancellation of at least one yoga class that was due to take place live.

This morning, on July 15th, Aditi Shah was scheduled to teach a stack of live classes. First was a meditation, followed by a 30 min slow flow yoga class.

The meditation took place as scheduled, however, shortly after it ended, the yoga class was quietly removed from the upcoming schedule – and did not take place.

Update – There was also a Barre classes that was canceled today which was likely related, as Barre is also filmed in the yoga studio.

Later that morning, Aditi took to Instagram to share what happened. She reported that there was a pipe leaking in the ceiling of the yoga studio at PSNY. The Peloton team wanted to take the necessarily precautions to fix the leak, as well as keeping the production equipment safe from the leak. Therefore, the class was canceled.

Both classes had been scheduled to have members at PSNY for them as well – with the group who took the meditation staying in the studio for the yoga class immediately afterwards as well.

There is not currently expected to be any impact on any of the other studios (cycling, running, or strength/rowing).

Peloton Studios New York and London are both live production studios – so from time to time issues like this have happened that interrupt the regular class schedule and cause last minute cancellations. For example, a dumpster fire near the studios as well as smoke from wildfires have previously caused class cancellations, among other issues.

Aditi did mention that they would try to reschedule the yoga class for some point in the future – but the exact timing of this is unknown.
