Peloton’s servers appear to be having issues during Robin Arzon’s Turkey Burn ride on Thanksgiving morning. In other words – Peloton is down, it’s not just you.
Update 3 – Peloton CEO Barry McCarthy has issued an apology about the outage & server issues during the ride.

Update As of 10:20am ET, around 20 minutes after class began, the servers appear to be fixed and people are able to rejoin the class again. Around 27,000 people jumped into the ride live around that time. A second update/fix was made around 10:33am ET. More updates towards the bottom of this article.
Robin’s annual Turkey Burn ride was taking place live at 10:00am ET. It was getting extra promotion this year as Peloton was trying to set a world record for biggest live class ever.
However, many people are reporting they are not able to get into the ride at all, either on a Peloton Bike or through the app.
For those attempting to join the ride on a Bike, they are seeing a message of “Failed to Load class. Exit and try again”.
The Peloton app is having issues a well, with many people not able to access the site at all, or those who are able to view the schedule seeing an error message and the class not beginning to play.
Peloton posted an outage at 10:08am ET (8 minutes after the class started) identifying an issue, although at time of publishing no update has been posted on Peloton’s social media channels.
Peloton’s outage report states that “We are currently investigating an issue with Live-Classes—Member-Facing”
At 10:22, Peloton posted an update of “We are seeing improvements to Live Classes allowing Members to join the live class. We are continuing to monitor.” This is around the same time we started getting reports of people being able to get back in.
However, this doesn’t appear to have fixed the issue for everyone, as we still got reports afterwards of people not being able to join the class at 10:30am.
Peloton then posted a subsequent update at 10:24am ET of “We are currently investigating this issue.”.
Finally, at 10:33am ET, Peloton posted another update that indicated they think they fixed the outage for everyone. This update said “We are seeing improvements to Live Classes allowing Members to join the live class and are investigating issues with the live leaderboard. We apologize for any interruption to your workout.”.
For those who had been able to get in, some reported that the number of live riders was not updating for them as people joined at left. However, after the 10:33am update, the count of people on the leaderboard began to update in real time again.
There were no issue during Alex’s run earlier which took place at 9:00am ET, where the world record was set with over 13,000 live runners.

Not sure where people were getting on after 20 minutes. I was never able to join until about 15 minutes after class ended after trying for whole 45 minutes continuously.
