Peloton Aiming to Boost Engagement with Teams Feature by Giving Away Prize Packs

Peloton is making a push to boost engagement with its Teams feature in the Peloton app by partnering with community groups to host challenges with prizes in April.

Multiple Peloton community groups have announced that Peloton is providing official swag prize packs to be given away to members who participate in team-based challenges through the app during the month of April. The prize packs – which are being provided directly by Peloton – include a hat, wrist bands, water bottle, sports towel, and headband.

The specifics of the challenges vary by team, but the general structure involves joining a team in the Peloton app Community tab, opting into an April challenge, and logging activity throughout the month. Some teams are running competitions based on total workout time, while others are focused on consistency – logging an activity every day for 30 days.

In each case, three winners will be selected to receive the Peloton swag gift set. All activity types count, including cycling, running, strength, yoga, stretching, meditation, etc.

Participation in the prize portion is limited to Peloton members in the United States, Canada, Australia, Austria, Germany, and the UK. The winners for each team will be contacted by Peloton directly to have the items shipped to you.

This effort comes as Peloton has been actively developing the Teams feature in the app – most recently by allowing photo posts.

This prize pack initiative looks like a deliberate strategy to drive more members into the feature by leveraging existing community groups who mainly communicate on other platforms like Facebook, and to try to move some of that engagement into the Peloton app itself.

If you’re part of a Peloton community group, look for a post in the Team section of the Peloton app (or on Facebook) about an April challenge with a prize pack from Peloton.
