All throughout the week, Jess Sims has been teasing several announcements – and recently specifically said she would be making two announcements during her pre-recorded Saturday 60 class this week.
The first announcement Jess Sims made today is that her Saturday 60s classes will be live again starting next week (May 12th). For the past several months, they have been pre-recorded on Mondays with members, then dropped as premiere classes on Saturdays. Now that football and basketball season is over, Jess is now able to do live classes on weekends again.
However, the class is now being rebranded. Rather than being called “Saturday 60s”, Jess Sims will now be coaching “Sims 60s” classes. With that change, the class is also moving days. Jess Sims’ “Sims 60” classes will now be live on Sundays for the time being at 2:00pm ET. Jess also shared that the class will be at “a time that works for both coasts” (2:00pm ET). Just like her Saturday 60 classes, the Jess Sims “Sims 60” classes will be 60 minute Tread Bootcamp classes.
The first several Sims 60 classes will take place on May 12th, 26th, and June 9th – so at this time it appears they may be every other week (it’s possible there could be ones for the in between weeks as well, we will update this as more information becomes available).
During the class today, Jess talked about how this felt like the next natural step and evolution for the class series – and talked a little bit about the evolution over the years. She talked about how she tried many different formats for the 60 minutes, including changing up the lengths of intervals – until she found the “sweet spot” of 10 minutes. She shared that the class has always evoked a sense of pride and nostalgia for her for when she grew up playing team sports (basketball) her whole life.
Jess reflected that lots of things have changed over the past year, so it was time for Saturday 60 to evolve as well with the rebrand.
While Jess didn’t specifically state this – the other big thing the rebrand of the class does is give Peloton and Jess the option to have the class be live on days other than Saturdays (and Sundays) throughout the year.
With the rebranded class – Jess announced that there would be new Sims 60 apparel dropping as well. That apparel is now live on the Peloton website (affiliate link).
There are 2 items available – a cooldown hoodie and cooldown sweatpants. They are available in both a “Garden Green” color, as well as a “Cinder Brown”
As a reminder, Jess Sims also recently teased that she was recording classes for a new program. That program was not announced today so members still have another announcement to look forward to regarding that program at some point.
