Reminder: Temporary Closures at Peloton Studios New York with no live classes start this week

As previously reported, Peloton Studios in New York will be temporarily closing at various times this summer. This is being done to install 4K cameras in the studios, as well as do some renovations to the store area upstairs.

The first wave of closures at Peloton with no live classes start this week (with PSNY being completely closed from July 10 – 13). This is mostly being done on rolling schedule – so that all 4 studios at PSNY will not be closed at once (except for this upcoming weekend).

The list of times, and which studio will be closed when, at PSNY includes:

  • July 10-13: PSNY is closed; No live classes from PSNY
  • July 14-August 2: No live cycling classes from PSNY
  • July 18-Aug 4: No live Tread classes from PSNY
  • August 5-23: No live Strength or Row classes from PSNY
  • August 8-25: No live Yoga, Meditation, Barre, or Pilates classes from PSNY

There will then also be a closure of all studios around Labor Day weekend – although this is not said to be due to rennovations and upgrades.

Peloton Studios London is mostly staying open during these times. The one exception to this is that PSL will be completely closed from August 11 – 17.

Peloton had teased that London “will have changes to the live schedule” during the times New York is closed. However, looking at the live schedule it does not appear to be widespread changes to cover the same times that PSNY would have had classes. Rather, it looks to be some small adjustments and an extra class here and there. Members who are used to taking live classes from the US-based instructors will definitely notice big gaps to the schedule.

One other change members may have noticed is there are live classes on Wednesday, July 9th – just before the first closure takes place at PSNY. For the last year, Peloton has not had live classes on Wednesdays anymore. This change was done to allow Peloton to “use that time to bring new types of content to our Members”. This week was an exception to this, as we saw Peloton hold numerous classes on Wednesday, with many of those being with members as part of the Beyonce Cowboy Carter artist series. This is not expected to be a change back to having regular live classes on Wednesdays, rather, being a special one-off occurrence.

While these summer closures in New York take place, a handful of the US-based instructors will be flying to London to teach a few classes from the PSL studio. So far, Olivia Amato, Cody Rigsby, Becs Gentry, Emma Lovewell, and Nico Sarani have all been confirmed as teaching some classes from London while the New York studios are closed. We previously shared that bookings to be in person for those classes had opened.

We will continue to share updates around when Peloton will be closed with no live classes as we get that information.
