Joslyn Thompson Rule is now part of the Peloton strength team. A new Strength Basics Collection featuring Joslyn Thompson Rule and Matty Maggiacomo was released this week.
Peloton shared the news via Instagram, saying:
If you are new to the strength or want to brush up on the fundamentals, check out Strength Basics 🔥 A new collection with Matty and Jos that breaks down key moves and helps you perfect your form!

The post includes a video of Matty and Joslyn explaining more about the collection, which is designed for those who want to ensure they are executing strength movements with proper form and precision. Targeted exercises include overhead press, squats, push-ups, and more.
The Strength Basics Collection is now available on hardware devices, the app, and the web. The official collection description reads:
Perfect your form, enhance your performance. Both beginners and experienced athletes will benefit from these foundational skills classes led by Joslyn and Matty.

The collection currently contains 10 classes with both Matty and Joslyn, each 10 minutes in length and focusing on one specific movement for the entire class. The exact exercises include: lunge, squat, Romanian deadlift, bent over row, tricep kickback, push-up, overhead press, woodchop, plank, and bicep curl.

We first shared this new collection was on the way earlier this month when Peloton highlighted the content in their “July Workouts to Watch” email. Because this group is a collection rather than a program, members can access whichever classes they’d like at any time. The classes also live in the general on-demand library and can be accessed there as well.

These new classes are Joslyn’s first strength-specific classes; though she teaches Tread bootcamp classes – which alternate between running on the Tread and strength on the mat – she has not yet taught a standalone strength class besides Arms & Light Weights content until now. It is currently unclear whether Joslyn will become a regular on the Peloton strength lineup moving forward, or if her strength classes will be limited to this collection.
Joslyn shared a little bit more explaining how this collection played to her strength, saying “You know I love to break movements down and it was glorious to spend ten whole minutes thoroughly teaching just one strength movement as part of our Strength Basics collection that dropped today”
She then went on to talk about how it is created to set up members for success:
This collection means that there will be no second guessing about whether you’re doing a movement right AND movement feels different for everybody, so I encourage you to meet your body where it’s at as per. This means you can enter each workout confident in the knowledge that you know the how, you just have to come through with the execution and you get to practise that as much as you like
