Peloton will no longer use Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ music & songs in new Peloton classes

Peloton has shared that they are ‘pausing’ the use Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ music & songs in their classes.

This means that Peloton will not be using any Diddy songs in new classes moving forward – for the time being. However, Peloton is also not currently purging any old class that has his songs in them.

The one exception to this is that classes from the two featured artist series that highlighted Bad Boy Entertainment are being removed. There were two different featured artist series for Bad Boy Entertainment – one in 2021 and another in 2023.

Peloton’s full statement about not using Diddy’s songs in Peloton classes read:

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take this issue very seriously and can confirm Peloton has paused the use of Sean Combs’ music, as well as removed the Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series, on our platform. This means our Instructors are no longer using his music in any newly produced classes. Again, thank you for sharing your concerns and thank you for being a Member of our Peloton community.

This update came in in reply to a member in the official Peloton Facebook Page asking Peloton about the use of Diddy’s songs in classes and encouraging Peloton to purge the old classes with his music.

All of this comes following Diddy’s admission over beating his ex-girlfriend in 2016 after video of the incident surfaced in recent weeks.

This is not Peloton’s first time to pause or quit using an artists’ song on the Peloton platform. In 2022, Peloton stated they wouldn’t play any Kanye West songs in new classes – and then went on to purge most of the old classes with his music a few months later.

Today’s statement about the removal of Diddy’s songs in new classes reads very similar to the previous statement about Kanye West’s music. The statement about Diddy music does not specifically mention that Peloton will not be recommending classes with his music to their members as class recommendations members see on the hardware devices and apps. It’s not clear at this time whether the statement just didn’t mention that, or if the classes may still appear as recommendations.
