Live DJ classes coming to Peloton Studios London as part of residency & collaboration with Defected Records

Peloton has joined forces with Defected Records – a renowned music label – to introduce the first ever residency at Peloton. Peloton shared the news via press release on March 13, 2024.

The release said:

Peloton today announced a new partnership and residency with global dance music institution Defected Records, which will include live DJ rides from Peloton Studios London for the first time. Launching on 21st March, the residency will feature six cycling classes, comprising custom mix classes with bespoke mixes curated by DJs from the Defected Records roster, as well as three live DJ rides.

The collaboration includes numerous elements, including the first-ever live DJ Rides from Peloton Studios London (PSL). There will be six classes total – all in the cycling modality – that utilize custom music mixes and playlist curated by Defected Records DJs.

The first class will take place on March 21 with Leanne Hainsby, and will include a custom mix from BBC Radio 1 broadcaster and DJ Arielle Free. The other instructors with slated classes include Ben Alldis and Hannah Frankson; and other already confirmed DJs include Ferreck Dawn and Monki.

This partnership was initially teased during Ben’s 2023 New Year’s Eve Ride, which at the time appeared to be a one-off Defected Records class.

Note that the inaugural PSL Live DJ Ride will not occur until June; however, the press release details what members can expect from the new content:

For the live DJ rides, Peloton will produce a unique music and visual experience similar to that of nightclubs around the world with the music mixed live and a DJ behind a booth in the studio. Peloton Members and non Members will have the opportunity to book and attend these classes, with the content also streamed live to Peloton Members at home. For all Defected classes (both custom mix and live DJ), Peloton Studios London will have a distinct look and feel with elevated production enhancements such as lighting and haze. All of these elements are designed to elevate both the in-studio and at-home experience.

Peloton’s SVP of Music and Content Partnerships, Gwen Bethel Riley, said:

At Peloton, we’re committed to content innovation and, with this residency, we’re creating an immersive and entertaining experience. Each class is designed as a celebration of music, movement, and community; and will transport Members from their home or the studio and straight to a Defected club night.
