Peloton is on the verge of appointing a new CEO, with the search for a leader to take the company into its next chapter well underway.
During Peloton’s call regarding Q4 2024 earnings, Interim Co-CEO Karen Boone confirmed that the process of finding a new CEO is far along, with the list of candidates having been narrowed down to a select few.
In Peloton’s Q4 2024 earnings letter, the company acknowledged that the CEO transition is “top of mind for all stakeholders,” emphasizing that the progress is being made, and an announcement will be made once the right leader has been identified.
Boone provided additional insights during the call, highlighting that Peloton has been working closely with a leading executive search firm to identify candidates from a pool of highly qualified individuals. She expressed optimism about the caliber of the candidates they are considering but refrained from providing specifics on potential profiles. “We’re not done until we’re done,” Boone remarked, underscoring that the priority is to find the best leader for Peloton’s future.

She did, however, mention that “we’ve narrowed it down to some very highly qualified candidates” and that “we’re pretty far along with some candidates.”
While Peloton has yet to reveal the timeline for the new CEO’s appointment, Boone hinted that the decision could be finalized soon, potentially before the next quarterly earnings call. Boone concluded the discussion by stating, “I do believe you will be speaking to and hearing from the new CEO of Peloton on this call next quarter”
These earning calls take place roughly 3 months apart – meaning Peloton is likely less than 90 days from announcing their next CEO.
As Peloton navigates this leadership transition, Boone praised the efforts of Peloton’s instructors and employees, recognizing their contributions to maintaining the platform’s “magic” during this time of change. Later on in the call, it was discussed how the instructors remain vital to the core part of the business.
With Peloton’s CEO search nearing its conclusion, we will share updates as soon as they become available.
For those unfamiliar, Peloton announced in May 2024 that former CEO Barry McCarthy would be leaving the company. Karen Boone and Chris Bruzzo were named as interim co-CEOs until a new permanent CEO was found.
