Peloton temporarily waiving the $95 used equipment activation fee for activating used Peloton bikes, treads, and rows

Peloton is running a temporary offer that will make purchasing a used Peloton devices more attractive.

From now until February 3rd, Peloton will waive the Used Equipment Activation Fee (UEAF) – which is typically $95.

Typically, any person who buys a used Peloton Bike, Tread, or Row will be charged this $95 fee when they go to activate their Peloton membership. This fee started being added in August 2024, as part of several initiatives to help boost Peloton’s revenue.

However, during this promotion, that $95 fee will be waived for anyone who activates a used Peloton device. There is no discount code needed – the fee will be waived automatically.

This applies for any of Peloton’s hardware devices – both the original series and new cross training series of the Bike, Bike+, Tread, Tread+, Row and Row+.

It also applies no matter where you bought your used Peloton – whether it be from the Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, or Peloton’s own “Peloton Repowered” secondary marketplace which launched last year.

The full terms of the offer state:

*Limited time offer ends February 3, 2026. During the offer period, the used equipment activation fee will be waived when you activate your secondhand Peloton equipment bought through third-parties. All discount values are in USD. Offer applied at checkout. No substitutions. Peloton may change, cancel or limit offers at any time. Cannot be combined with certain other offers. Void where prohibited. Not transferable. No cash value. Not valid outside the United States.

This offer comes following Peloton’s New Year sales on new Peloton equipment, which offered up to $1,400 off some devices.

Unfortunately, since this is the waiving of a fee, it doesn’t seem like this is something Peloton will price match or retroactively offer to people who activated in the past 30 days (unlike a discount on the hardware itself), but should we hear otherwise, we will share an update.
