Changes to Peloton class schedule: Member classes Thursday AM – Sunday PM, Less Live Classes Monday & Tuesday to record more programs

Peloton is rolling out another round of changes to their class schedule this fall. This impacts both when live classes with members are available, as well as the overall live schedule. Peloton says these changes amount to “minor shifts to class schedules to better suit more calendars and deliver more of the workouts you love. ”

Starting on Thursday, October 9th, Peloton will change what days & times live classes with members are taking place in New York. Prior to this change, the regular schedule for classes with members has been from Thursday evening through Monday mid-morning at the Peloton Studios in New York – with various exceptions and special events changing that.

This regular schedule will shift starting in October. Rather than member classes not starting until Thursday evening – there will be member classes starting Thursday morning in New York (and continuing into Thursday afternoon & evening).

However, with that, Peloton will no longer offer live classes with members on Mondays. This means the new time blocks for member classes in New York will be Thursday mornings until Sunday afternoons. Peloton says this is “more convenient for more Members’ schedules and travel plans.”

Peloton did not announce any changes to the member schedule in London at this time, so that is expected to remain available as Friday evening through Sunday afternoon.

In addition to the member class schedule change, Peloton says they will begin delivering more “Program-based classes” starting in October as well – based on the popularity of programs. However, to facilitate this, Peloton will be making live schedule changes for floor-based classes like strength & yoga.

Specifically, Peloton says they will have fewer live classes in these modalities on Mondays & Tuesdays to support the recording of more program content. However, they say they will still be releasing on-demand classes on those days to offset the lack of live classes.

Note that reduction of live classes on Mondays & Tuesdays appears to be specific to strength/yoga/pilates, etc – and not impacting cycling & running. This change to the Monday & Tuesday live class schedule will begin on October 6th – and is expected to impact both NYC and London classes.

Peloton is framing these changes as a positive for members, and could actually increase the total number of classes overall (even if they aren’t live), saying that “Both of these changes mean we’ll be able to produce more total classes each week, so you’ll have even more opportunities to work out with Peloton moving forward.”

The company says that they are and continue to evaluate their schedule, based on feedback of members, sharing that “We’re always evaluating scheduling preferences to continue delivering what works best for our Members.”

This changes comes a little over a year after Peloton ended live classes entirely on Wednesdays.
