Peloton Announces Partnership with Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) – New Prevention Classes & Collections

Peloton is expanding its wellness mission into prevention, announcing a collaboration with the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) – a top hospital for orthopedics and rheumatology – to bring expert-backed injury prevention and recovery classes to Members. They have also partnered to make it easier for Peloton members to get treatment from specialists through a “Peloton Member Concierge Service.”

In announcing the new partnership, Peloton said:

Beginning today across Peloton devices and the Peloton App, all Peloton Members can engage with new classes and programs designed for specific musculoskeletal focus areas aimed at preventing and recovering from musculoskeletal injuries. These initial Peloton Instructor-led classes address some of the most common requests by Peloton Members, and were developed in conjunction with HSS’s renowned musculoskeletal health experts.

The partnership marks the first time Peloton has joined forces with a major medical institution to co-develop science-based educational programming and offer Members streamlined access to orthopedic care.

Peloton members can explore seven new “Prevention Series” collections, co-branded with HSS and available in both English and German. Each collection focuses on a specific musculoskeletal issue and includes three to four brand new classes developed in collaboration with HSS experts.

The lineup includes:

Each series aims to help people both prevent and recover from common injuries by improving mobility, strength, and overall musculoskeletal awareness. Classes filmed at Peloton Studios New York (PSNY) include a five-minute “Welcome” video featuring the instructors alongside HSS specialists, providing insight into the science and purpose behind each program.

Peloton CEO Peter Stern shared:

“Prevention and recovery from injury are both critical and inevitable when you live an active life. Through this unique relationship with the experts at HSS, we are deepening our commitment to our Members’ long-term wellness and exploring a vital, often-overlooked, aspect of the fitness journey.”

In addition to the new classes, Peloton and HSS plan to release more recovery-focused content in the coming months. Peloton has also teamed up with The Recovery Shop to create a Peloton Original Bike+ Rental package available to HSS patients who are recovering from injury or surgery – offering a safe way to rebuild strength and movement during rehabilitation.

Beyond content, Peloton Members will now have access to a new HSS Member Concierge, a service designed to connect users with orthopedic specialists at HSS locations across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Florida. The concierge helps facilitate appointments for orthopedic consultations, physical therapy, and sports injury evaluations, providing Members a streamlined path to expert care. People can access this by calling (212) 606-1884.

HSS President, CEO, and Surgeon-in-Chief Emeritus Bryan Kelly, MD, MBA stated via the press release:

“HSS is bringing more than 160 years of specialization in fixing musculoskeletal problems to also helping people avoid injury, and live better and longer. This collaboration extends our expertise to a national community famously committed to personal wellness and performance.”

Members can find the new Prevention Series collections on the Peloton App and hardware devices, and you can read additional information via the official press release.

We first shared earlier this month that this collaboration was on the way.
