Peloton members could soon see a major shift in how the platform engages and rewards them. In Peloton’s FY 2025 Q4 earnings letter and call, leadership confirmed that more gamification and loyalty are on the way.
The announcement came under the company’s newly introduced strategic pillar, “Making Members for Life,” which places retention and loyalty at the center of Peloton’s long-term vision. While the specifics of any new gamification and loyalty programs remain under wraps, the earnings letter and subsequent call provide some clues as to what may lie ahead.
The earnings letter talked about the “Elevating the Member experience with Peloton” mission of the company, saying:
We will do onboarding right, for example, by gamifying the first few weeks to ensure every Member embraces the ‘golden behaviors’ (frequency, breadth, and depth of engagement) that maximize the likelihood of sustaining their commitment. And we will respond in helpful ways if our Members experience a lull in their motivation.
The letter also seemed to hint at a potential loyalty program for existing members, while focusing on “Deepening our Members’ connection to Peloton.” It read:
We will recognize and reward healthy habits and loyalty to our community with a new program that we will announce soon, which will continue to evolve and grow over time.

CEO Peter Stern echoed those points on the earnings call. He stated:
“You’re also joining a supportive community. We’ve experimented with ways to strengthen this community and foster more engagement through our social network teams. We have more features on the horizon to deepen connections and engagement among our members. We are also continuing to elevate the member lifecycle with new onboarding programs and to recognize our most loyal and committed members. A core pillar of our strategy is ensuring our prices reflect the human impact we deliver to our members.”
While Peloton has not revealed exactly how these new initiatives might work, we can make some educated guesses based on similar approaches in the fitness and tech space, as well as hints from Peloton’s own language.
First, it is possible that the Peloton app will introduce a points-based system where members earn points for certain activities, such as: taking live classes; joining a Program and completing weekly workouts; sending and receiving high fives; hitting streak milestones; participating in Challenges; and engaging in the Teams feature.
Those points could then contribute to a personal score – something members could compare with friends or other members at a similar point in their fitness journey. Certain achievements might unlock special offers, gifts, or exclusive experiences for both new and longtime members.
For new users, Peloton appears to be looking at gamifying the onboarding phase – perhaps with early challenges designed to build consistent habits and encourage variety in workout modalities. For established members, the focus may be on rewarding healthy habits and long-term engagement, creating a sense of progress and recognition beyond the standard badges and milestones.
While Peloton has not provided an exact timeline for these new initiatives, Stern’s comments towards the end of the call indicate that the wait may not be long. He stated:
“And then last but not least, and since you’re a longtime member like me, I think you’re going to really appreciate the work that we’re doing to recognize and reward healthy habits and loyalty to our community. So that’s one of the cool things we’re going to be announcing really soon, and it’s going to grow over time.”
