Peloton appears to be rolling out a small test of a new feature that will allow Peloton Bike owners to more easily track their device settings including seat height, handlebar distance, and more.
Some members have reported seeing a new “Fit Settings” feature on their devices in recent days. This has been seen on both the Peloton Bike and Peloton Bike+.
The fit settings feature appears on the start screen that appears before beginning an on-demand cycling class. The section displays the seat depth, seat height, and handlebar height that a user has saved for themselves.

There is an option to “Manage” these settings, which directs the user to a dedicated page with information for how to adjust any of these settings and save them in the future.
Users are able to click on the picture of bike on the tablet, where it shows numbers or letters with their current settings. Clicking on that allows the members to adjust & save a new value to their personalized fit settings.

The same screen also shows a video and text, demonstrating how to properly adjust that specific setting.
This feature could have a number of potential benefits. First, for members who share their devices with multiple members of their household, it allows them to quickly reference their preferred device settings without having to remember them off the top of their heads. This could also be extremely useful when traveling, visiting a gym, taking a class at Peloton Studios, or using a shared Peloton Bike – any scenario in which members are not using their own personal device.
Prior to now, members had to remember, write notes for themselves, or take pictures of their settings in order to get the proper fit when they are traveling or using a different Peloton device.
The feature allows you to save half settings (such as C.5, for the depth of the seat) if you are in between full numbers.

Peloton could also theoretically use this data, once it has rolled out and they have lots of people using the feature, combined with users height info which is entered in their profile, to try and guide new users to a recommended initial setting based on averages among the majority of members.
The feature seems like it would allow you to have a different setting saved for a Peloton Bike+, as well as an original Peloton Bike, since the exact geometry differs slightly – although this hasn’t yet been confirmed in the limited rollout of this feature we’ve seen at this point.
This currently appears to be a limited test, and we will share any updates regarding a full feature rollout as they become available.
If you are a Peloton Bike/Bike+ owner, would this new fit settings feature be helpful to you?
Update: This article originally said reports had only been seen on the Peloton Bike+, but has been updated to reflect that it has been seen on the original Peloton Bike as well.
