Peloton Acknowledges Bug with Calorie Calculations, Fix Rolling Out Next Week

If you’ve noticed your calorie numbers looking off during recent workouts, you’re not alone. Peloton has acknowledged a bug affecting calorie calculations for some members.

The issue was posted to Peloton’s status page today, with the report stating: “Some members are seeing discrepancies in their calorie calculations.”

Peloton says the issue has been identified and a fix is rolling out the week of March 16th.

It’s unclear exactly how widespread the issue is – Peloton has not provided specifics beyond the status page update. It’s also not yet known whether affected workout history will be retroactively corrected once the fix rolls out.

This isn’t the first time a calorie-related bug has impacted the platform. Last May, Peloton addressed a bug where calories were incorrectly calculating when using an Apple Watch on Peloton devices. Prior to that, in August 2024, a bug on the Peloton Row caused calories to report as zero during floor exercises like strength and yoga classes. Both of those issues were eventually resolved.

If you’re tracking calories closely for training or nutrition purposes, it may be worth noting which workouts fall within the affected window so you can compare once the fix is in place.

We’ll update this post if Peloton shares additional details.
