Peloton is in the process of rolling out a fix for how calories are counted when using an Apple Watch as a heart rate monitor to take a Peloton class on Peloton hardware (a Peloton Bike, Tread, or Row) .
For the past several days, members have been reporting issues with the number of calories that Peloton would report following the class.
While the workout summary on the Apple Watch would show the correct number of calories burned – the Peloton screen and post-class data would show a significantly higher (almost double in some cases) calorie count.
Yesterday, Peloton created an official incident for the issue, titled: “Calories are incorrectly calculating when using Apple Watch on Peloton devices.”

They stated that they were looking into the issue, and that they hoped to have a fix by the end of the week.
Today, Peloton shared that they have implemented a fix and it is being rolled out to fix the bug – but that the company would continue to monitor to make sure it solved the issue.
These bug fixes are sometimes gradually rolled out, so it might not be immediately fixed on your device if you were impacted.
